Very overlooked game, the first time I heard about it was on a steam sale. Yet to be honest, this game is worth purchasing at full price. Unfortunately, I'll mainly have to compare this game to Elder Scrolls Online, considering thats the only game which could come close to Secret World's quality.
-Amazing voice acting and cutscenes. (Your character is present throughout them)
-Engaging gameplay, has a free lock-on option just like in ESO, except combat feels less clunky.
-Unique progression system, where there are no classes or leveling. You just spend points to upgrade weapons/abbilities, allowing you to use anything and essentially create your own classes!
-An ultimate fantasy game, it encompasses lots of video game themes (high fanatasy, zombie apocalypse, military, etc), while at the same time not making a mess out of the plot.
-Surprisingly for an mmorpg game, and unlike ESO, quests are not just pure grinding. Quest objectives usually kept me engaged to the point where I actually read the quest desriptions!
-No more subscription and no pay2win stuff.
-Considering how many there are clothes, it is suprising how limited face customization is. Also there is no body customization whatsoever.
-Downloading 44 gigs was not fun..... (still better than ESO's 70 gigs)
-At some point it may feel that there are way too many cutscense (especially during the starting areas). You literary get a custcene for every minor task you do.
-For some reason the game kept telling me that I don't have high enough spec to run it, yet I get smooth 60 fps on high settings. (btw its very well optimized)
Brilliant game, doesn't feel like an mmorpg but rather feels like an offline role playing game. Too bad its quite underrated. If I would compare it to Elder Scrolls Online, I would choose this game any time. I'd sooner pay 33 dollar for a complete rpg, instead of getting a clunky generic fantasy mmo for 70$...
