My experience with this game is mostly positive, as a player of MMOs I have a good sense of what games should get right and what games do wrong. The good: This game is the best-looking, immersive, interactive games I have ever seen. Interaction goes way beyond interacting with objects and pushing buttons. It forces you to find clues and think like a supernatural investigator would. The leveling system is revolutionary, no other MMO lets you put points into skills this way. It's awesome.
The Bad: It can be confusing at times. New players may not know what to do and have to feel around slowly at first. As you gain confidence, you get bolder and bolder, solving puzzles and finding secrets.
The ugly: avoiding taking damage and aggroing patrolling mobs. Avoiding taking damage without aggroing non-target mobs is difficult and can cause wipes. The mantra of "the only way to stop incoming damage is dealing more damage" only works in MMOs where you're sure you can put out more damage than your target. In an MMO where there are no Experience Levels, this can be difficult.
Other thoughts: This game is very unique, features a customizable character thing, and lets you indulge in supernatural settings thought long lost. The investigative side reminds me of watching X-Files episodes, and some of the missions make me feel like I'm in a movie, scavenging supplies, forming a plan, and taking the fight to the bad guys. The best part is that it still is fun to me.
