Difficulty level of The Book of Unwritten Tales
Dear BoUT fans,

Nordic Games here! Game hub tool is just fantastic. As you know there are lots of reviews out there (I counted over 60 already) - all of them fantastic with on difference: The reviewers' opinion on the difficulty level of "The Book of Unwritten Tales" varies a lot. Too easy, too hard, just right... What's your opinion? Thanks for letting us know.

IMHO, the difficulty of bout is spot-on. Tho it could probably be compared to the 'easy' track of old adventures with multiple difficulties (MI2,Indie4, etc.).
Should you decide to make harder adventures, please consider leaving an easy path/option in.

I've just completed the demo (a pretty long one, which is good) and I thought that the difficulty level was just right. Great game! Aug 31, 2012 @ 7:40am
Really enjoying my time with the game so far. Top notch.
As for the difficulty level I agree with the above posters. It's about spot on. :)

I enjoyed the difficulty levels. So many adventure games today do not really seem like you actually have to solve puzzles but are instead spoon-fed throughout the whole game *ahem* Telltale *ahem*.

Good job guys!

I'd say the difficulty level is just a teeny bit too easy, but that only because the game excells in being logical. Honestly, I wouldn't want it changed. I've played too many point & clicks that use vagueness or obtuseness to increase difficulty and the game sufferes because of it. More often than not when I'm stuck in Tales it's because I didnt' notice that one of my actions opened up a new dialog choice with someone I already talked to.

On that note, it would be cool if somehow you guys could mark when an NPC has something new to say. Kind of how pressing the spacebar brings up hotspots.

Guys, to be completely honest, Tales is probably the best point & click adventure I've played since The Longest Journey. It's the complete package: beautiful graphics, charming characters, and it simply oozes personality. I simply can't wait to see what you guys cook up next.

I completely agree ,I wasn’t Shure if I one to buy it but now I’m glad that I did It’s not RPG but puzzle solving and now when les and les RPG coming out, this is welcoming change and good humour too

When U buy this game on net and from Steam U got no choice to set up a dificulty level and because this I'm stuck in 4 chapter where U supose to create Lightning. For me those arows going to fast,I try it many times but so fare no luck,I don't thing that there is a way to avoid it or bypass it.If I get option to set it to very easy dificulty level ,that may help me,Idon't know

The addon Critter Chronicles will offer 2 difficulty level .. it is an important topic and I am curious to see your feedback on the addon either.

For me it was easy, but I play a lot of adventure games, so I have some experience.

Difficulty selection is essential nowdays ie:young gamers to "mature" ganers. Only trouble i had was my head, it's like a sieve, so puzzles like "guess the 3 colors", well, i should have remembered to have my TRUSTY pen and paper ready. T'was like my Mysy day's. Doh!!!

Equilibrium of difficulty is perfect. I´d say the game has very similiar difficult level as what I´ve known in Broken sword series.

It is not so difficult because of the "mouse-wandering" you can make and then guess what to do. Not every puzzle needs it, but some, mostly those who are dependent of almost hidden objects.

Tiny objects (like the ring on the crying maid husband tomb) must have some kind of differential if the game have not any kind of zoom feature. Some of these tiny objects have wrong mouse hotspots placing that makes it more difficult to find them. Some objects are almost hidden too, behind the inventory UI.

Other few puzzles have not any logic, like the one to mix paint - you have to make the red liquid, you pass a lot of times in front of a reservoir in the cave, but you are not able to mix it there.

But i'm not saying the game or the puzzles are bad anyway, just some few flaws. It is so far the better point-and-click i played so far, and one of the better games of any type too.

Difficulty was very good, not too hard and not too easy and puzzles were LOGICAL.

I would say that the difficulty is on the easy side. It definitely isn't annoyingly easy but it never gets difficult and I like a challenge so for me it would be better if the game would be slightly more difficult. If I would be 10 - 15 years younger the difficulty would be spot on.
