Bug: Merchant wont give me the Sack with the Fireworks, Cant Continue

Been enjoying the game tons so far, but ive hit a snag, ive followed the Walkthrough, and suddenly, I cant get the sack with the fireworks off the merchant, and I have forgotten to save so far :s

Any Advice/Fixes? Much appreciated if someone could help!!!

Well, the walkthrough is probably missing something.

Why are you even buying a game, then waste the fun by using a walkthrough?

Cause I like the Game, and I can get confused easily with the amount of logic puzzles that a player can get lumped on.

The walkthrough could be wrong. I'm playing this game without a walkthrough and I got the sack from the merchant. You can get the sack from him if the merchant want to leave the city. Not before.

I am having the same issue even after reading other walkthroughs. The merchant is not leaving and Wilbur will not talk to him. Did you resolve this?

I finally fixed it. I had gone everywhere else so even though I didn't think I needed to, I went uptown to the guard and talked and when I came back down talked again to Maige and when i came out, the merchant was packing up. Hope this helps.

After walking and talking to everyone and everywhere 'cos that pesky merchant just wouldn't give me the second reward nor move and Wilber wouldn't talk to him anymore, I tried an uninstall/reinstall which put me right back in the same spot, it finally hit dumb me to...........

SPOILER!!! =====================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================recheck my/Wilbur's inventory... used the pen in DEATH'S big book. Got the sack, bye bye merchant... Duh! So obvious AFTERWARDS!

You should attempt to write in the book of dead to trigger merchant to go. Get a feather from a cage in the caravan and the ink where the monkey was. Just it.
