Multiplayer problems: Failed to join game, unspecified error

So first thing, I can barely see any multiplayer games going on, maybe 10-15 max at a time.
Bigger problem: I can't join any of them without it just booting me back into the lobby saying Failed to join game, unspecified error... now thats not very helpfull info at all.
It's not only me, also my friend that owns the game that gets these errors, so sadly theres no way to play multiplayer matches with him, which is a big part of why I bought the game.
Does anyone else have this problem, does anyone know a fix? I can"t find any info about this "unspecified error" anywhere... thanks!

Bump, I have been having the same problem for the past week or two. My firewall is open, my routers ports are all forwarded, somthing is a-foot.
