Seleucid DLC how much will it be?
Considering the Greek Culture Pack is is 8 US dollars and that's 3 factions I think the Seleucids will be $5. How much do you think it will be?

How far do you want to bend over?

Depends on how much content they're adding that isn't in the game yet. I might consider buying it if they're truly make it a unique experience instead of clash of the clone armies/cultures that's going on now.

I bought most flavour units for E:TW when they were really cheap during a sale since I liked to have more faction variety in units for my armies to make them more unique.

yeah, seleucids will be free and comes out sometime next month i think.

the nomad culture pack will probably cost $8, honestly its great, i have little desire to play as one of those minor nomad factions, the seleucids are worth to me much more than a bunch of insignificant factions.

the only other faction i really want is the lusitani.

I honestly don't think SEGA will be able to ask for another DLC for some time. The DLC for Sparta was all flavor DLC. Hell, you didn't have to download anything it just enabled the code that allowed you to play as them.

For the TATW players out there that don't remember; in older games you would play through the campaign once and then as you conquered/met other factions: you were able to play other campaigns as them because you unlocked them.

The only DLC that came from Med 2: TW was a content expansion that added three different time periods to play at with new features.

That's not flavor, that's meat there.

This game was released a month earlier than it should have, but I don't regret it. However, they botched a lot of the stuff they said they were going to do and are going to have to do a lot of work to fix a lot of stuff, but some things they just can't fix easily; such as political intrigue, story-driven gameplay such as family trees for your generals and such- all that flavor is gone.

So in conclusion; No. if they ask for money to 'allow' me to play Seleucid's or any other faction in the game I've already spent 60$ on, after this kind of release? Especially with all the FEATURES and how they hyped us on a lot of crap? No, it will be a slap in the face if they push any more DLC without reaching out to me, the customer, and trying to win me back.

(Don't get me wrong, I still play Rome 2 and I think it's fun, but I am a 10 year customer and they have wounded my purchasing power for them)

Precisly! To make a faction playable they need to do a little bit of tweaking. And CA have more than enough humility to not make us pay for a single faction, especially one that everyone wants like the selucids.

shouldnt cost anything...im shocked u dont have to pay for everything but rome

If you see the faction in game there are mods which unlock them plain and simple. Is this allowed i do not know but they are available as of now.

So this begs the question why is content locked when its available in the first place because this methology has happened in the past with certain games and just like that the gamers where up in arms and what do you no the content on disk or downloaded was legally infact the gamers right to use, so they backed down and unlocked the content.

They arent allowed to withhold content from a gamer to be unlocked via a code if its been downloaded before. This area is a grey one but its happened in the past and im sure gaming companies will try and do it again ang again.

The only time i agree with dlc is if it pure and simple improves any aspect of gameplay or is a susstantial amount of additional content. ONe faction for say £4 is not worth it because sooner or later we ill have one playable faction and every other bloody faction as dlc.

the is no locked content.

DLC factions include new tech trees, units, buildings, traditions, objectives, etc etc.

you're welcome to unlock factions via mods, but they will have relatively generic units, and they will have shared generic tech trees and such for their culture.

if you're fine with that, thats fine, including the free seleucids, you will already have 10 factions to choose from anyway even without the greek or nomad DLC.

with both DLC you have a whopping 16 factions to play.

this game may have issues, but faction variety is not one of them.

In other words they got lazy and didnt develop each faction as being unique in the first place so need to rely on dlc to plug the gap so to speak from the info you have given me. Not to mention if the next dlc's are paid how will this affect the balance of multiplayer campaign etc. So technically they can re-release every faction and add more tech trees, buildings, tradtions and objectives amoungst others and cash in ... hmm good logic of a money cash grab.

See it has a knock on effect which is why i hate dlc in a game such as total war or any other online game which gives people a competitive edge over the others. Yes you get what you pay for but only if the gamer deems the cost is justified.

the problem with DLC's for me is the pricing, they should be reasonably priced, empire/napoleon dlc's were on the sweet spot in terms of pricing. now its plain stupid people asking all for free, let me ask you something, how many of you are willing to work for free? do a task or get a job and not getting paid? videogames are a bussiness product related to entertainment and not charity. content value + replay value = pricing/how much , 3.99 or 3.99 would be sweet spot, not 7.99 >___< i got greek pack because it was free to me and i only paid for the whole game 37.99 xD

The Seleucid DLC will be free, CA had made that clear even before the game came out.
