What triggers civil war?
Im currently playing as rome and wonder what trigger civil war? and is it someway to delay when it triggers? Is it x number of provinces like in shogun or something else?

Ive heard it is triggered by your family getting to powerful over the others, and them declaring it on you.

So in teory you can avoid the civil war by letting other families have a share of the power?

Then the question is.. how many % does your family need to have before the others go rampage? Oo

I had it declared with 27% control, so I guess it works both ways.

I became Imperium and got 74% influence, next turn Civil war .... I reloaded the game assassinated / adopted / married most of other generals and still next turn >> Civil War

In a republic being too strong or weak will trigger a civil war. In anything else being to weak wil trigger a civil war.

in short learn to play the borked political system.

Civil war is inevitable, just like ROME 1

It isn't a particularly brilliant political system but it gets the job done. Besides, it is better than having some over complicated system that distracts from the main thrust of the game.

It would be better if all the supporting information was there. family trees etc.
