need help

so i just bought Rome 2. When i launch the game it goes to the menu which lists all the TW games i have. I hit the play button for Rome 2 and then it says failed because the app is already running. i have already gone through the steps that steam said to do. My computer is more then capable of running Rome 2 and curious to why i am having problems. if anyone could help that would be great
