Roxolani vs. Baktria

want a nice stock custom battle? its real fun but challenging took me some tries but it sure rewarding to finally win!

lol im playing as baktria and am close to wiping out roxy! I hate the ♥♥♥ out of them. stacked with horses while i only have my commander cata. i spent 5 turns assaulting/poisoning to the pooint when i did siege, my spears ripped through thier units. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bloody but i managed. now am building a military province to evetually assault the silly easterners from the north while I contemplate going to war wothy parthava, aria, sagataria, dragnia, and arachosia all in a single turn (♥♥♥♥♥♥ allied they are). only problem is i lose a ton in trade

Try playing as Roxolani on custom thats where the challenge is :)

ill prolly have an easier time considering i can keep out of range. as long as i can quickly micromanage groups of horse archers while stiull using cav to charge those pesky spears from the rear

Good luck ! good idea keep your Sarmation Class horse men down the middle so they can cover your Horse Archers then use your Royal Lancers on the right or left flank and charge the enemy cavalry EDIT Oh and keep in mind the Horse Archers lose ammo fast well due to the high armor content of the enmy as well

have u tried playing as baktria against roxy? even in an ambush i lost over 50% of my forces. luckily i got em down to 1 settlement and will be sending a high lvl champ/spy to burn their farms until they starve to death. then ill march in and mop em up

No pikes, lots of thureos spears combined with persian (Elite) archers and 4 units of the best cav you can have. Arrows bounce of the spears, your archers have longer range and deal a ton of damage against unarmored horse archers and you cataphract cav can crush their cav.

Pikes and swords are useless against nomads because of their ranged power and lack of infantry

i have the capability to build the barracks for thueros spearss but have not yet, nor do i have arab archers

No i'll have to try it but i would feel it would be easier considering the Spear units and the cavalry i have with Baktria would be sort of easy to catch some Horse Archers then using spear to charge at them with more spear on the flanks protecting against those Royal Lancers and having Ranged hit the caught units easy it seems i'll try it i do get costly victories with Roxolani though

But yeah if you mean Campaign no i meant "stock" Custom battle
