Advice for Issues with Total War: ROME II
If you are experiencing any issues with Rome II that you require assistance with in order to play or launch the game, please direct these to the support section of the official forums where our support team is located.

http://forums.totalwar.com/forumdisplay.php/144-Total-War-ROME-II-Support-Forum

Please note that if your issues are occurring directly after a patch and you are running mods- they may be out of date. Disable them and try again. You will have to wait for the mod creator to update their files in order to be compatible with the more recent build.

hi,
I launch the game Total War: rome 2, and the game starts regularly. When you load a game or start a big campaign, when I click the button that says end turn, the game crashes.
Note: I do not have any active mod and I never installed.
What do I do?

That is, if your computer meets the minimum system specifications and doesn't work/install, you have a legal right to get a refund.

Hello, "From Dust" with your secret DRM that requires an internet connection.

e) Shuts down your account for a chargeback
Steam is only allowed to remove the game you chargebacked, not disable your entire account permanently.

C - Valve does give refunds for this.

D - Valve did give refunds for this.

E - Chargebacks are another form of fraud, you deserve to have your account shuttdown suspended until you fix the situation.

For those who for whatever reason don't want to search through or post on CA's forums, try this as the start of your troubleshooting process:

1. Disable all mods.
2. Verify the game's cache.
3. Update your video drivers to the latest WHQL version.
4. Set all GPU overclocks to reference values.
5. Disable Steam's Cloud feature for TW:R2.
6. (If you have saved games, please see note at end of post before doing this step) Delete the "Rome2" folder located at Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\
7. Run TW:R2 to allow it to create a new folder at that location.
(8. If it worked, you'll need to change your preferences in the game again, because you just deleted the file which controls them.)

--------------------------

Note: If you have old saved games you'd like to keep, before deleting the "Rome2" folder, you need to enter it first, find the "save_games" folder, and copy it to your desktop or some other convenient place. After you run TW:R2 in step four above, you can move the "save_games" folder back into the newly created "Rome2" folder, and your saved games will be available when you get the game working again.

The link doesnt give you any useful information on how to fix the problem.

Which is why you go to the appropriate subforum on the official forums for the problem you are having (in your case probably Installation Issues) and create a post explaining what the problem is and providing any details requested such as a DXDiag. It may take a few days to get a reply, especially as it's the weekend so they probably aren't in the office.

CA has a team of support people whose job it is to help with problems, but as the first post states you need to post it in the official support forums. They can't be everywhere and by focussing on just their official support forums then they can put the most resources into it and avoid duplicating efforts.

Hopefully you will find a solution.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon

Actually it does give you a lot of informaton, plus you can log a report on any of those forums and CA themselves will respond and try to help resolve your issue.

Anyways, so you have an issue loading the game?

This is exactly what's happening to me. I don't understand what the issue could be. It's quite frustrating when a game works fine and then it patches and now there's problems.
To be honest I don't have time to go searching through forums for an answer to this issue, so if anyone has any quick advice I'm all ears.
If not then I guess no Rome 2 for me.
