The next DLC/FLC however will most likely be an Eastern faction Dlc, whether or not it will be a part of an expansion is yet unknown also - but some loose files that came with the latest patch give off a very suspicious indication that it will have something to do with The Mithridatic Wars.
Eastern factions would be fun. I hope they flesh out the roster for Pontus, because they and the Suebi have pretty meagre rosters (Suebi has a few more units but the extra units are often slight variations of each other).
Perhaps they might expand on the Pontic roster if they do in fact make a Mithridatic Wars expansion, seeing as they were a major player during that war and to get an extra few units might just bring them the reputation they actually deserve.
I think patch 14 was for this exact purpose. A defensive campaign (one wherein you just fight as long as you can until they conquer you, like the Roman decline) depends on good siege AI, or all those sieges are boring.
They may very well do a decline of Rome soon, now that they patched up the siege AI with the most recent patch.
But, yes, I think an Eastern Campaign will appear first.
I agree with you on the seige ai fix for an expansion for the fall of Rome. For the 1st time today i fought a defensive seige and i nearly lost the walls and i was against 3 armies however i had 3 legions so i smashed into them like a knife on butter lol.
Also i saved the replay so i might record it wensday and upload it to youtube. :D
Yeah i noticed that as well. Hopefully the devs will get it fixed
If my city is ever at risk of being attacked i would ussualy have a legion in the city. Aslo every legion i have has onagers and ballista. Now i have the large onagers and ballista so it's very easy for me to cut them down before they hit my walls. As for ladders they all ussually reach my walls so i have ot send cohorts up to fight them and i have my auxillary archers from a nice mod to cover the walls where the ladders arn't. They have the same range distance as the slingers and they deal more damage than a slinger but they still don't deal as much as a skrimisher. They are good for range and wearing the enemy down along with my heavy artillary and the enemy is almost always about to break when they clash with my troops. It's very effective and i am steam rolling the ai in everybattle due to having all these heavy units and massive artillary lol. Elephants also go down in seconds. XD
Just a warning about replay.... it replays the commands that were made during the battle, not the battle iteslf. So there might be variations.
Not really. my replay a few weeks ago wen't flawlessly. I havn't looked at the one i have now though.
Yeah and now the town seiges are open land battles but i also found a way to make it come to my advantage. The enemy comes to me and i tear them apart before their reinforcements arrive lol.
I agree completely
