Help! Unable to upload games to workshop.
I'm using Windows 7 by the way.
I was having problems uploading my game, so I uninstalled both Game Maker: Studio and Steam, re-downloaded and reinstalled both. Started a brand new account with Steam, disabled my virus protection. Restarted my computer.
Steam seems to be sync'd up to its cloud.
I saw someone suggest that you might need to create a Windows targeted application first, then a Steam Workshop targeted one, I've tried that too.
I've created an extremely simple game to test uploading, that doesn't work either.
I've tried everything I can think of.
When I try to create a Steam targeted application, it goes through all the compiling motions ending with-
writing zip file C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Temp\gm_ttt_3496\
-but nothing appears on the workshop.
Is it possible that the screenshot I'm using is the wrong format? I've tried PNG and JPG.
any ideas would be appreciated.

I uploaded mine fine earlier using PNG. I had to upload my game as a new version as Update seems messed up at the moment. Did you fill in the tags at the bottom, and there was also a Steam services confirmation that came up, I presume you agreed to that?

Yeah, I've filled in all the tags and agreed to all the conditions.
Now I think it might be a problem with my computer's firewall settings, I'm testing that out now.

It could be as mine occasionally asks for permision for Gamemaker, good luck and I hope you don't have to update the game soon as that seems to be a whole new can of worms.

Well, it wasn't the firewall.

You are selecting Public on Visibility, right?

I can upload games okay, my problen is I can't seem to get people to play them... any sugestions on that would be helpful :)

Well, what's hot right now? Batman, always sells.
Maybe you could rename your game Sexual Middle Earth Bat-Hockey, or something?

OK I bypassed my wireless router, am making sure to run steam as an administrator, have updated directX...still nothing.
It's a shame that the uploading all takes place in the background so I can't track down the problem. A simple upload dialogue box would have worked just fine.
I guess I'll give up on trying to upload my game.

You forgot Zombies, they seem to be a requirement today. I didn't realise that the name was what made people try the game. Off now to rename it Zombie Pucks and throw in some buckets of gore... and sex.

I find that if you open taskmanager and kill conime.exe after closing gamemaker, it will begin to scync files with steam. Note, however, that if you have a large game, it may take more than one sync to fully upload and publish your file, because of how steam manages workshop. (Or something.)

I didn't find conime.exe either.
Maybe that's at the root of the problem realsteelcy and I are having...
