Cant run game

Like many other people on this board every time i try to run the application the pop up message will say running then disappear. Just bought this game today and little mad cant play it

Also running it on a windows 7 Lenovo and have the latest direct X and C++ downloaded. If i need something else or anything help me out thanks

I may have a solution to your problem. You're probably missing the d3dx9_42.dll file.

Download the file from here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_42

Drop the file into the main install directory of the game (usually located here):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half Minute Hero

I had the same problem, and I dropped the file in. Now the game loads, but there's no music or sound.

I'm assuming you get an error every time you run the game followed by no sound. This should get your sound working:

Its says "This application has failed to start because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" so should i just uninstall and reinstall or is there something i can download

No need to reinstall. In some cases people are missing 2 other files. You can get the files here:

You need to put the file where the game was installed on your computer. So it'll be the area where the executable to run the game is. An easy way to get here is to:
1. Locate Half-Minute Hero in your games library.
2. Right click on the game and select properties.
3. Click on the Local Files tab up top.
4. Here you'll notice an option that says Browse Local Files. By clicking this you will open a window in the spot where you need to put the file.

I actually placed it in the exact location where it located me before I knew where to and it didn't work at all. .my game still doesn't launch :(

My game just opens and closes with no display or anything at all
