Space Rangers HD: A War Apart

Let's Play Space Rangers HD A War Apart (Updated)
Hey Guys.

This will be my second attempt at an LP for Space Rangers HD A War Apart.

My first time around, I suppose, I could consider more of a trial run.
I think I've improved the general quality of my videos since then with one exception.

In order to make my videos longer I've pasted several smaller parts together using AVS;
this has had two side effects.
One being there's an AVS watermark in the center. (In addition to the Bandicam one)
Two being the video has a strange pulsing/clicking here and there.
Both of these will be fixed when I purchase Bandicam, however I don't know how
long it will be until I can.

I hope you enjoy the new videos, I've been enjoying making them.
I appreciate your comments and feedback, I read all comments and take all
feedback to heart.

Part 1 (of series 2):

Thanks Again!

(OLD)
I've just started my first let's play video ever, and I'm doing it on Space Rangers HD.

I apologize for my lack of experience, I have to get used to talking and playing at the same time, but i'm sure i'll get better with time.

Let me know if you want to see more (or not) and I'll keep making them.

with respect you took the entire video to create a character and read some text - do another video showcasing some gameplay THEN ask of people want to see more ;)

Haha. Ya, my first LP and it drags out pretty slow in the beginning.
That and I have 15 ten minute parts and half of them are kinda boring lol (bandicam trial hehe)

I think after awhile it starts to get better though, once I start to learn to pick up the pace,
and keep momentum.

I could restart the LP all over, but it might be better just to skip to like part 5 or something.

If there's enough demand I'll either purchase the full version of bandicam, or use a video editor
to paste several videos together and make larger episodes; though unfortunately i'm kinda
lazy so it'll take some effort and a real reason for me to push myself to do that. :)

I really appreciate the people who have took the time to watch the video(s) and comment,
it really makes me feel it was worth it, whether the comments turn out positive or negative.

Please do not take that as negative feedback Vince!!!! It most definately was not it was purely an observation.

I've watched a fair few of your vids at work today - first of all THANK YOU for being the first to actually bother to do an English LP on this - secondly do not knock yourself because you are new, anyone that bashes you for doing a first time job needs a slapping.

You are clear and informative, you have a pleasant and non-irritating voice, you explain what you are doing and go in-depth about things that may not be immediately apparent - these are all signs of a quality up-and-coming tuber.

2 more observations i'd point out to you though are:

1 - You cannot see the mouse cursor in any of the videos, at first i thought it was me being an old man but nope .... no cursor so all the time you are saying "here is this" and "this is that" ... you can't see what you are "pointing" at.

2 - This is not a huge deal but since im at work i like to let an LP just run and listen to it - Your entire playlist is backwards.

Regardless do not give up because you are doing a very good job on selling me the game - when i left off you had just made your jump to Hedes and were being accosted by a persistent pirate - i plan to watch the rest and make a decision on a purchase in a moment.

Well done!

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it very much!

I'm currently working on a second LP series for SR HD, kinda re-doing it.
Hopefully it will end up being better and not worse, since it's less informative than the first one, since I tried to move things along a little quicker.

I apologize for the mouse cursor issue I fixed it in a later video,
I didn't realize Bandicam had it disabled.

I'm not sure how to set up playlists, etc, yet, but am planning to figure that out hopefully soon.

I'll post a link to the re-newed LP series soon and hopefully you'll like it as much or more than
my first attempt.
(I personally think I sound a little too 'robotic' at times on the new one, but I should
lighten up by the second episode.

Also on my new LP series I used AVS to edit several parts together, however this left
a slight side effect; a weird kind of pulsing in the screen, I don't know if I can fix that
but we'll see.

Again thanks, I really appreciate the feedback!

I watched through your first 7 episodes too, well mostly. After the first episode I skipped ahead a few as I didnt want to see the tutorial stuff, I will have to play all that myself eventually.

I am just looking to see someone play that knows whats going on. Explain what you are doing, and enjoy the game. Regular commentary throughout is necessary for a viewer such as myself (you did fine!)

Keep at it.

Question: Is the only different when chosing a 'personality' the type of ship you start with? The game talks about having a pirate profession, how would that work?
Vincent Oct 19, 2013 @ 9:48am
I believe you go to a pirate starbase to begin working as a pirate.
I've only been to one once, so i'm not completely sure; i've never played as a pirate
myself.

But basically it's more about what you do after you've started the game, than your starting ship.. however your starting ship can still make a bit of a difference, for example starting with a pirate ship would allow you to be better at pirating, since the pirate starter ship i'd assume is much better at combat than the merchant starting ship.

Ok Guys the first episode of Series 2 is up; however I've run into an unforseen snag.
The video only uploaded to 360p, but I have an idea what went wrong and am already
at work fixing and re-uploading it.
(episode 2 is uploading in 360p and i will fix that one next.)

Sorry about that guys, hope you can bear with me.

EDIT:
I'm such an idiot, sorry guys I forgot youtube takes awhile to process high quality videos.
So there's no fixing required.

Already better than most , hope you make more
Vincent Oct 20, 2013 @ 4:53am
I'm planning on more episodes soon. Takes longer to process and upload than my first series since I'm pasting pieces together in AVS instead of just straight up uploading them.
(Plus I took a little break from playing last night and this morning.)

Also I think I may have figured out what was causing that crackling audio issue, and
hopefully it should be fixed for episodes 4+ when they're released.

Pretty nice, You can make a video about hidden content, people love hidden content, and nobody did a video like that in English... clearly You first need to find the hidden content, let me give you a tip: pirate "logos" on bases and planets contain encrypted messages in vigeneres code. For instance pirated Gaal goverment has a logo with "peace through power" message. If You'll find more, you can make a compilation or just give yourself a quest to find all of theese messages in your videos, things like that usually improve the quality of the LP.
