Over rated
WHY did this get such a high rating??? Can we be more honest with ourselves and say that just because a game is "indie" doesnt make it good. This game sucks. You don't do anything in the game, it lasts maybe 5 minutes, looks like &$%#, and zero replay value. wtf? I know its only 4.99, but this is a game that shouldve came in a cereal box for free. Dont buy it.

True, totally overrated. I cannot even begin to imagine what all those reviewers were thinking when they gave this "game" such a high score. They remind me of people looking at a crappy modern painting. They all act like they think it's fantastic and beautiful because none of them want to be the one to say that it is just some colored smears on a canvas and that there is no underlying reason or message...just an ugly painting. Same with this "game". It is what it is: a ridiculously short and completely pointless story with no underlying message. I have read several reviews where the reviewer said the game made you think about the way stories can be told. I agree, it's a lesson in how to NOT tell a story. Waste of money.

For $5 I could have gone out and bought Dr. Suess and had 10x more fun.

This is Ridiculous if you even think about the fact that this isnt even a game
First of all its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, second of all you just press W, this is worse than the gameplay of Beyond 2 Souls, and still it get 9.5/10
Nearly as good as Half life or Warcraft 3 wait... Nope, same rating as half life and Warcraft 3.

I wonder how much the devs paid for their metascore...Any guesses?

Your criticism would be valid if this was grouped in with, say, Half Life. But here's the thing: it's not. It's not supposed to be, and it's not advertised like it is. It's advertised as a first person short story, which is exactly what it is.

Please, next time actually take the time to read a game's description before you buy it.

Jesus Christ. When will you Big Enders and Little Enders get over the fact that you dislike the game, and realize that the only problem is that the game is just not for you. I expected more things from TFoL as well, was disappointed that it didn't expand upon the gameplay of Gravity Bone, or the Citizen Abel mods for Quake II and Half-Life. I saw the video for what the game was about, and how long it really was, and I still bought it. Why? It was cheap, it was well constructed, and I wanted it for inspiration for game design and to play through it again. It also had Gravity Bone with it and some commentary, which was a good bonus for me. I'm hoping that Chung would remake his previous Citizen Abel mods in this engine with this style, and so that I can get the gameplay that I wanted of TFoL. I'm still looking forward to Quadrilateral Cowboy, even if it will be as short as this game. So what if this game is a quick first person story with little gameplay? At least it gets right to the point better than other story driven first person adventures like Gone Home. This game doesn't have to be for you, so stop kvetching like a bunch of screeching hairdressers, and play other games which you find more satisfying to play than TFoL.

Insufferable tarts.
