Thirty Flights of Loving

Er...this crashes. A lot.
Loved Gravity Bone and was looking forward to enjoying this but the game crashes when I try and press a button in one of the first rooms. Any chance of a bug fix in the future?

It's based off the quake 2 engine - it should be rock steady. This is my long way of saying good luck.

Taken from the Blendogames faq:

"I'm currently looking into this. In the meantime:
Try running the game in 'Windows 98 compatibility' mode.

a. Go to C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\thirty_flights_of_loving
b. Right-click tfol.exe
c. Select Properties > Compatibility
d. Check on 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'
e. In the dropdown box, select Windows 98
f. Run the game.

Try disabling 'desktop composition'.

a. Go to C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\thirty_flights_of_loving
b. Right-click tfol.exe
c. Select Properties > Compatibility
d. Check on 'Disable desktop composition'"

Hope that helps!

Running it in Windows 7 x64 with a Radeon 6950, I also had tons of crashes. Eventually I had to follow both the Win98 compatibility and disable desktop composition tips to get the game relatively stable, and even then it crashed reliably at the mid-point level change when the developer commentary was on. I had to figure out the name of that level and manually switch maps via the console with developer commentary on to continue.

It was a fun experience and I don't regret buying it, but boy did it ever seem buggy. Don't know if that's due to the Quake2-based implementation layer or if it's the game itself.

Yes, this happens to me as well. Win 7 x64 with a Nnvida GTX 460M.

Interesting, I had no problems at all with Gravity Bone so was surprised to find Thirty Flights so buggy. Shall try the 98 compatibility suggestion.

I set it to win98 compatibility and disabled desktop composition and it still crashed at the level load halfway through the game. On two different PCs (running Win7 x64). When I went back to the autosave it loaded normally, but yeah. Those suggestions didn't work for me. Hope this gets fixed.

I've gotten to what seems to be the end of the game... is it supposed to end with you being at the exit door and the game freezing up and not letting you look backwards, or is it a bug?

You're litterally one room off. There should be an extra scene on the bridge after that.

Windows 7 64-bit Nvidia GeForce GTX 680M

I wanted to play Gravity Bone first, so I've only loaded it from the options but I can't even get any further than getting into the first staff room after the game tells you to press space to jump before the game crashes. Crashes in the same spot every time. Anyone had any success fixing this issue?

I have win7 64 bit, Nvidia GeForce GTX 540M.
Game is unplayable. Opens in a strange shaped windowed mode (easily fixabe in options.)
Game crashes when I try to open the first door.
Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ right now.

Tips didn't work the first time I tried. I relaunched the game and was able to play a bit further until it crashes. Launched a third time and main menu came up (before this it was jsut launching me straight into the game with no warning). This time I was able to play through the whole game for some reason. Then I tried Gravity Bone and the game instantly crashes.

This is all very, very strange. Why won't it jsut work?

Hopefully someone figures out a fix soon. I really want to play this game.

Crashing constantly trying to play Gravity Bone, couldn't even use the first briefcase on the first stage without it crashing every single time. Really disappointed, as even the compatability mode suggestion did not work. TFOL seems to be working fine so far besides it forgetting my video settings and screwing my desktop gamma entirely forcing a reboot.
