Feeling the need to defend this
If you go in expecting an hour plus long game, with plenty of cover-based shooting or puzzles or whatever, you won't get that with TFoL. If you're interested in a short-form experiment trying new things with the medium of gaming, with a compelling story that does NOT give you all the details on the first playthrough, this is for you.

That said, wait for it to go on a little bit of a sale first, so you're not paying full price....

The best recommendation I can give you is to try Gravity Bone, a free game in an identical style found here: http://blendogames.com/files/gravitybone_v11.zip . You'll also be able to play Gravity Bone in the game.

A scam is not a new experiemnt, its been around for 1000s of year; see: history.

There is no "game" aspect. If you want an example if a game see Pong from 1972.

Well it did compel me to vomit, so I guess that counts.

There are no hidden details, because there are no details.

Again a game is something hard to define. This is art to a lot of people. Because you don't like it, because your tastes are different doesn't mean it's not art. Think of the old people saying "You call that music?! That's not music!" at the people who listen to punk rock. You may not like it but it exists, defended by the US court system.

If you read the forums more you would see that the game actually has a lot of depth.

Video Game is actually a horrible term in general, a lot of "games" you play are technically not games. Sim games like minecraft or simcity aren't games, they're toys. Thirty flights of Loving is pretty great, clearly you just didn't understand it and refuse to actually think about it critically. In your case I could see why you would be upset
