Thirty Flights of Loving

Thirty Flights of Loving

5 Minutes
Those are 5 minutes you will never get back and 2€ which you could have used to buy a hamburger. Choose the hamburger instead ...

(If you read all these comments on this thread, you have almost used equal amount of time that it takes to finish this game, and you get to interact more by writing a comment. Now I only need to find out how to rip you people off the 2€ ... )

I like abstract indy games. Some other people do too. I can name lots of short games that were really enjoyable. I have a game I paid 5$ for that lasted an hour, I really enjoyed it.

Maybe do some research before you buy instead

I really enjoyed this game, so much that I went and looked through all of the artist's other works. I knew what I was getting when I made the purchase, and anyone else can easily do some research before spending the cash as well.

For what it is, it is a masterpiece.
it is a master piece indeed, if you categorize it under french scams
Yeah, this game is not deep, meaningful, beautiful, or throught provoking. It's not even a game, it's just a slightly interactive "movie".

"You're so deep I can't even see you right now."
Watch a Let's Play instead.
WTF? I literally bought this and 2 minutes later I'm done? If I had any idea the "short" in the description of "short story" was 2 damn minutes, I would not have wasted the $2.... What even was this nonsense?
The game is for a different audience, I think that much is a given with this game. On a first playthrough, this consisting of both TFOL and Gravity Bone (which is included) it took me about 60 mins. I enjoyed the game, it was short, sweet, and fun to experience. The developer commentary was neat and an unexpected surprise that gave some perspective on the game too. Anyhow, the original post was derogatory and I hope my response can clarify a few things about the value of this game.
It took me about 30 minutes to get through TFOL and Gravity Bone, and I had a lot of fun during that time. There even is quite a bit of replay value, if you want to figure out all the aspects of the story. Those 2€ were definitely well spent.
What people seem to forget is that it's not marketed as a game, it's marketed as a 'first-person short story'. which it is.
worth it for jeff goldblum
i'm so mad some of the reviews sounded like it was artsy good and what not

my turds are more indie than this game
Worth it.
Worth every cent.
there are some nice ideas. but sorry i don't see any possible way how this game would tell me a better story than the games i usually play (i have no mouth and i must scream f.e.). of course there are some titles in my library that suck way more, but those ain't the games i usually play.

in the devlopers comment the dev says he didn't want to introduce death and health into this game. i died, squished by the secret door in room 1, while experimenting with the game mechanics. Jumping into the endless abyss in the same room just made me respawn though.

i moved around and took a lot of time to check all the details but there weren't that many. this ain't really a game its more of a demo that tries to introduce new game mechanics, algorythms and ways to solve map design issues.

some people also try to get much more out of such stories than possible. Similar to "Dear Esther" i really must say this ain't that much afterall. TFOL is ok but nothing really new nor special. games like this exist in masses but you won't find them on steam, because most of them are free flash games.

i don't think this game is bad, but its also not really a game and it has absolutly no replay value (except if you are interested in the commentary). Talking about TFOL not about Gravity Bone (which i haven't played yet btw.)

2$ is almost nothing and you won't starve because you couldn't eat that hamburger.
still i fully understand that the time this game takes to complete is beaten by the almost any game i know. but still you could have checked on this game and i bet many people who like it would have told you that the game only takes a few minutes to complete. so again do your homework because its not the idea behind marketing to let everyone know if this particular item is the right thing for them. use youtube and google to check on the games you are considering to purchase.

Sorry for mistakes, im not from an english talking country.

Edit: the trailers even warns you about it being a short story...
And check this: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/thirty-flights-of-loving
only because a 88 metascore does not mean you are going to like it!!!!

I was playing right now for 40 minutes, and i doesn't understand it.
Got 3 bird photos and then suicide myself trying to jump.

What is that game?
I don't get it, although i like too much different games, with original gameplay, etc...
