Overpriced cards... why, WHY?!
Why the ♥♥♥♥ are the cards of this game so overpriced? They tend to cost 5 to 8 times what a normal non-foil card would usually cost for a game with 10 cards for a badge. I bet this game owns the most expensive non-foil badge on Steam, wtf.

because not many people have the game.. thus market is not so flooded = higher prices.

supply and demand, everyone wants to make a buck

If you get the game and cards, you can go ahead and sell your cards for 20 cents.

Worst part? The cards aren't even that expensive. Many other games have far more pricey cards then this.

I agree with Angel

the card value of games are based on how many people bought that game and how many are on sale. this game is aimed for a very specific group and not many people bought it. plus the damn on crafting the badges is also high since the kind of people who craft these, like me, are anime fans and want to show it off.

Only thing I'm wondering is why Cindy's card costs 3 or 4 times as much as the others. It's currently priced as much as a foil, for no reason that I can see.

When the cards first came out they were like 50 cents lol cause nobody but a handful were willing to buy Cherry Tree High for retail price

And I haven't played this since I had finished it... way before the whole Trading Card biz was even conceived.

I guess that I should replay it and go to the bank with a laugh, er, craft that fancy badge :P

Yep. Low supply + inflexible upper branch of demand = high market prices. Economics, ho!

(Incidentally and ironically: despite the capitalism meme -- Recettear has no trading cards (and is unlikely to get any). Well I guess the trading card game is an economy sim and Recettear is just a business sim. And the economy sim applies supply and demand.)
