Not working with 360 controller
What's going on? I can't get this to work with my 360 controller. I am using the xbcd drivers, most of my games don't work with it without those, and the default microsoft driver doesn't let me map the triggers as buttons. Has anyone gotten a 360 controller to work with this?

Why not just try Joy2Key or Xpadder?
joy2key didn't work, and I don't have xpadder
i got a wired one. works just fine.plug and play.
mine works just fine too in any other game, but not freesia, i'm using the XBCD drivers for it because i need the triggers to function as buttons in games (some games won't let me bind to them as triggers), so maybe thats it but it works in any other game so i don't know what the problem is

XBCD driver is unofficial and not supported by the game. You answered your own question, I guess. You should just invest in XPadder and use that to map the triggers as button keys in those mentioned scenarios. Freesia works perfectly with the official driver for Xbox 360 controllers.
Which means I have to break most of the other games I play with a controller (partially, since many of them don't support analog triggers, so I need those to be buttons, which XBCD allows and the official drivers do not), just to play Freesia, which is one of the only games I've ever encountered problems with controller support at all. I'll just play with the keyboard. As for unofficial, Freesia has no official controller support at all according to the steam store page. Unfortunately superior drivers mean even unofficial support is broken in this game. It's dissapointing because my friend got it for me, and I won't be able to fully enjoy it, or, at least not at the same time as being able to play my other controller games without problems like 2 less buttons.

Read my post again. XPadder. Use it. It will help a lot more than the unofficial driver ever would. You would not lose any functionality and would actually gain functionality.

Maybe it's not part of your problem, but I had once a 360 controller issue with an other game. The HID game controller wasn't activated indeed, so maybe checking out could prove useful :

Control Pannel > System and Security > Device Manager > Human Interface Device > HID Game Controller (or something like that).

Sometimes it's not activated.
You also could check out 360 controller installation :

Control Pannel > System and Security > Device Manager > Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class > Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.

Verify drivers and activation of the device. If not, you can try reinstalling it. Maybe the fix lies here.

Of course, Xpadder is also an enjoyable solution if it doesn't work ; the config isn't hard at all and it would not force you to do all this.

Well, I'm really late to post this, but you never know, so...
