I am too stupid for the Demo Tuturial

How to I "perform an Ukemi", the game tells me to press and hold Guard while beeing knocked down to do that, but I do not see the character at any time beeing in a astae I could call knocked down. Can anyone help, I really like the game's art style but would not buy at the moment..

You gotta jump while they hit you with their ranged attack, this way you get knocked down.

you know you don't really have to do what the tutorial says just kill everyone to finish the stage
