Clicking Beta banner on start screen freezes Ubuntu 13.04

As referenced in the subject, I'm running Steam for Linux, and just purchased Humble Bundle 9. The game runs wonderfully, unless I click on the banner on the start screen that talks about a Beta FAQ. The game freezes up, and I have to force quit. I think it might be getting confused with trying to open a web browser locally.
