What is wrong with the jump in this game?
I'm Trying to capture all the mythril blocks but there are some who are very difficult to get, not because the game is challenging me but because the jump not always work like I want. Right now, I can't get a block in Mordor where you have to jump in a series of poles and mid way there's a pole where one of two things happen: my jump gets short, even though I'm pressing the jump button and tilting the left sitck all the way, or I over jump for some reason and pass the pole. What the hell!
Is anyone experiencing this? Is there a solution?

I had that problem too. It's probably because they try to help you by not letting you jump too far, but they set it wrong or something so you always land short. I got around it by jumping a bit to the side and then changing directions in midair to land on it. It was one of the hardest blocks to get, probably took me a couple dozen tries to get it.

Thanks Darkwarrior, that really helped. I needed 3 tries to get it right but your is the easiest way to get to that mythril block.

However, I still think the developers should consider a patch for this game. The jump mechanic is a hit and miss situation as it is and being this a platformer game, it shouldn't be so hard to jump to the place where the player wants.

I love this game. It's a good adaptation from the books and movies and it has a lovely fan service, with cameos and pop culture references, but the gameplay it's so frustating sometimes.

Watching the behavior of characters standing on single platforms and narrow bridges, I think it's a side-effect of whatever method they use to keep you from falling off the edges. It's not just a matter of coming up short, but clearly hitting some kind of invisible barrier. I'm going to try that Legolas jump too, because that's one of the last bricks I have to get. That and one or two near the top of Isengard. Bah.

I've generally enjoyed this one too, but there are a lot of weird little scripting glitches and crash scenarios in the overworld and optional sections.

fo shizzle my nizzle game keeps freezin up not cool bro have twice the recomended specs and doesnt work right what the french toast
well, the solution i found is to aim slightly down when jumping left, because straight left ends up being an invisible wall for me. i'm using and xbox controller. so, to each his own. by aiming slightly down i get out of that grid lock and all you have to do is carefully aim where you're landing for the 2 platforms. and then back to the usual straight forword jumping.

Bloody hell, I was just trying to figure this one out last night on my PS3, and it was driving me insane. I'll definitely give this a go tonight. :)

(And other comments are spot on: the game is fun as all hell, but sometimes the controls & camera make me want to kick puppies.)
Damn this poles to hell. I spent half an hour trying to do this. Thanks for the tip, Darkwarrior. Got it in the first try after trying the diagonals.
