Why the low scores?
Wondering why this has a relatively low metacritic score. I was gonna pick this up for 4 bucks but the score kinda put me off. I understand its mostly MP but are there any glaring flaws or bugs in the game? I would be running it on Win 8 4 bit

Hehe, I could go on and on about how the industry works and why scores are the way they are, but I'll keep it short. Most mainstream reviewers that are certified by metacritic don't take the time to really understand what an indie game is trying to do. Ask any indie dev and they'll tell you similar stories. If you search for reviews on Tower Wars, you find lots of indie reviews who give us 8/10 and higher! Anyway, that's the short version. If you love multiplayer online competitive strategy games, Tower Wars just might be your thing!
I downloaded it. It's definitely a fun game not deserving the low scores. But the wait times for in between matches are atrocious.
It's incredibly shallow as well as being a ded game. I thought it would be far more indepth than this. It's a shame for a game to be out done by custom maps in WC3.

idk, I think it's pretty good. Only problem is like you said, it seems kinda dead and takes a while to join a game. But hell it cost me 4 bucks. Cheaper than a big mac and fries, I can't complain.
I personaly dont give a sh** about the metacritics main score.
The user score is another thing, thats something you can get a first impression from. Also read some reviews, some low scores, some ultra high scores and a lot from those people in the middle. That'll usually tells you everything you need to know to make your desicion

The game is pretty solid and i've found no game breaking bugs. As for wait times, if more people get the game than the less time it will take to find a match, so try to bring a few friends to this gem.
Not sure about the online part but Ive played about an hour solo to get used to the gameplay . I could see this being a blast 2 player. You need to build proper defences while sending creeps to the enemy base. Theres a lot going on. It doesnt feel shallow like somoene else pointed out. The metacritic score aggrigation is total nonsense. It gives sites like IGN and Gamespot a heavier sway in the final score than smaller sites for example. Its better to just ignore their final score for games.

Just bought this game yesterday so ive only had 3 games but i have not had to wait more than 15 seconds for those games... game has a lot of depth, a lot going on all the time and seems pretty sweet... although in my 3 games my opponents have all been useles so its been 3 easy wins!

Quite the opposite for me. My first 4 games were losses and I finally got my first win today, woot!

I think you're just an idiot. I am sorry but this is the dumbest comment ever. You never played online so how can you judge? You built 3 lightning towers at start and lost and now it is a shallow game? Lol! Grow some hair on your teeth like would say somebody I know...

The problem is this game has no replayability outside of epeen value.

Figure out mainstream strat to deny mp while killing opponent, repeat... and repeat... and repeat.

Honestly only reason this game made it far is banking off of the WC3 Map line tower wars / wmw etc
@Gun420, that's the equivilant of every single online game ever. Find a strategy that works and keep using it, over and over and over and over. That's why SMGs are king in Blops2, that's why there is an ADC/Support bottom in League of Legends, things work, you always do them. Any competitive online game will have a cookie cutter to follow and use over and over again, WC3 maps were just as bad that tried to do the same thing, you do the exact same build order everytime, and nothing changes. That's just gaming in general mate.

except generally speaking there is a choice of how you do them in these games. for warcraft/starcraft they have races that add intense level's of strategy into the game (and sending isn't enough here)

for LoL there is over 100 champions that each do things their own ways...

I don't play FPS's anymore so can't account to blops2 but I think you get where I am coming from, there is little deviation at all in this game, that is my problem :\

back in w3 line tower wars was my favorite map because you had the frantic of sending while choosing how you could best counter the current fo's be it from scorps huge ass maze or maybe a smaller maze with sorc aoe slow + moonwell? I think the fire/light combo was called been a while lol

PS... I miss warcraft 3 good ol' days =[

Main thing is, it needs more maps. A good player generated map creator would go a long way for this game.
