New Ranked season coming

With the new features out (more maps, game balance changes), we will likely start a new Ranked season next week. Most likely, we will have a bugfix update on Monday, then start the new season later in the week. We'll write again with more specific information later.

feature request: when a tower placement will alter the enemy path to show the hex under the mouse as a light red shade. This is particularly important with the lava/airmageddon map. if you send them the opposite direction at the beginning from your planned maze due to a recalculation on the shortest route you are basically screwed. This would eliminate accidental path changing. You could write the code that if it diverts a percentage deviation from the last route or specify when it changes the direction around an obstacle.

does that also mean we get the achievments then for getting into top 100 etc from last season ranked ?

You mean for the ranked period we're in right now? Yes, once the new season begins, you should get an achievement for your placement in this period.

The terminology is a bit confusing I'm afraid. I believe we'll be calling the upcoming season "Season 3". We called the current period just "Ranked Play" because we did not want to consider it a true season, but we wanted to allow people to play for score as they wished. But our code that grants the achievement knows no such distinction, and it should trigger in the new season.

i mean for season 2 after that ranked got closed and now its open for points but before ranked got reopend i was in top 100 and didint get the achievement so thats why i was wondering if i had to wait till season 3.

Mmm, you should have got that already then, since you've played during this ranked period. I saw you on the current leaderboard, so you have played at least once, and at that time it should have given you your achievement. At any rate, you should be in line to get the same achievement for this period, when the new season starts (probably tomorrow). Please let me know if it doesn't happen.

Actually you have to play a Ranked game to trigger the achievement. I don't see you on the Season 3 leaderboard at this time, so I'm guessing you haven't done that yet?
