Can't get down from the telephone operator tower, no arrow above ladder

I got up to get the operator headphones but there is no way to go down! The arrow above the ladder just doesn't appear when I mouse over.

So I'm totally struck there now. No matter how many times I click the ladder he won't go down. Previously, before getting the operator busy this was also happening, but then I just initiated a chat with the operator and the arrow would appear. Now there is no way to chat with him, so it bugged.

Playing on Mac OS X 10.9.

EDITED: Already sent an email to the support.

I sent an email to their support and they sent me a save with that fixed.

omg i had this happen to me so i started again then had it happen again started again and im am so glad it didnt do it a 3rd time, i now save all the time just incase something happens again

I've had the same problem (PC version) and talking to the operator then exiting the conversation generally does it

Happened to me too. This solution worked.

I ended up saving, quitting the game completely and then reloading my save. The arrow appeared after reloading.

That does it for me! It's not the first error I encountered in this game but I kept playing because it still was fun to play. But it it seems like this problem can only be fixed by using a save game that would throw me way back in the game. It's a shame really but time to step over to another game.
