I am alive .exe has stopped working - game never launches

Sure there's still some other folks having this problem. I have tried the RunValidation fix and it has no effect, anyone else know of other things to try to get the game running? Far as I can tell it has to do with Xinput .dll file which is part of DirectX, if anyone has any other information it'd be awesome.

Yeah, I just bought and installed the game. As soon as I run it a small window shows up saying it is verifying some files. After 2 notches the program crashes!

Well Major, I know someone mentioned renaming the systemdetection.dll, in the game directory if that errors. Can't imagine it'll work but hey, i've been trying everything. I don't even get the bar, it errors immediately.

Yeah zzrzinn....renaming the systemdetection worked for me. I small message shows up that the program can't find the systemdetection.dll and then it still launches the game!

Glad it worked for you...for me it tried once to install directx, and since then errors immediately, no matter if I try reinstalling, or any of the other fixes. Waste of money bleh..

I seem to have solved this issue by disabling a certian virtual audio playback device.

Try disabling all playback (and possibly recording) devices you don't need to actually hear the game. (Or just try disabling all audio devices and see if the thing runs then.)

I had to right-click the executable, properties, compatibility tab and check disable desktop composition, visual themes ... and for good measure scaling on high DPI

Then it ran ... without sounwithout soundd

I have installed the latest version of directx but i have always the same problem. I never managed to launch the game for the first time and steam support did not help me. There's a window with the full list of errors that i can't fix.

I just got it working on my old computer which has win 7 and it loaded and I had no Issues. so my verdict is Steam sold me a crappy game that dosent work on windows 8.1 and theres no support! CAN I HAVE MY MONEY BACK STEAM or should I get on face book and till all my friends you suck!!
