Is it a good game?

For me, the lack of being able to save and some of the mechanics made this less than fun to play. There's some neat stuff here, but at the end of the day, I feel like everything this game tries to do has been done better elsewhere. Its never clear when the game saves, and I've had several occasions where I was pretty sure I had hit a checkpoint, turned it off, and came back to find I had to start over from the beginning of the area. None of these things individually were deal breakers, but together they combined to make me uninstall it. Just my opinion, people seem to love or hate this game, I just found it mediocre.

It is too short, but oh-so-sweet.

I played this on my PS3 when it was originally released..i thought it was The Last of Us and was very confused when I loaded it up and it wasn't that game.
I actually really liked this game...I didn't finish it as it was really difficult and I got tired of dying.
I also was using a really old non-HD TV so it didn't look that nice.
Would I buy it again? Yes..I actually would. When I get paid I'm totally going to buy it on Steam now that I saw it was ported over to the PC.
What I liked about this game was the feel of being in the game. I felt tense and paranoid of what was going to happen next. I died..a LOT. It was musty and dark and creepy. It also wasn't easy..which is why I liked it. I get tired of a lot of modern games being way too easy or repetitive in their action/controls. No, I did not finish it and my main reason was I got really tired of the night levels. Maybe I'd feel differently now and finish it, but at the time..crappy tv + night levels = i couldn't see anything.

So yes, this game is worth it. Don't expect to be a run around and shoot everything on site game. Don't expect to finish it super fast. Expect to die...and often.

Its not a big triple 'A' title its more like a indie game, plus its one of my favs, but I like obscure odd games like Afterfall Insanity, Eye Cybermancy, Postal 2 etc and those type of games are not well recieved by main stream gamers. I'd watch a few more gameplay vids if your still undecided, good luck on your choice.

PC game that has issue supporting mouse + keyboard? But not a controller? Thanks for this review. Gonna pass. If I want a controller game, they sell PS's and xboxes, I want a game supporting kb& mouse or both. Thanks for saving me the time.

Mouse and keyboard worked fine for me. Just man up and give it a shot. I have over 200 PC games on and off Steam and have never once used a controller for any of them.

And as I have stated already in other threads but can't seem to drive home hard enough: The controller you use to play the game is not an accurate assessment of the game itself.

See, I look at it from the complete opposite perspective. Not only does the PC provide me with the ability to play an amazing array of titles which do a fantastic job of utilizing KB/M controls, it also provides the the ability to play several games with a controller without the hassle, cost, and wast of space owning a console would otherwise require to play the variety of games built with a gamepad in mind. I understand your frustration due to your desire to play with a KB/M, as there are just as many titles for the pc that I feel would be better suited with a gamepad but lack support. I don't let that get in the way of me allowing myself to enjoy a good game though.

Then you haven't played Brothers, and let me tell you, you are missing out.

I got it on sale for... I dunno, a buck 50 maybe. Worth that, definitely.

Good idea behind the game - poorly made. Bad controls and bugs in the game.
Westenra Nov 17, 2013 @ 12:17pm
Provide examples or you're just trolling.

Got it for something like 15 dollars and don't regret it; good developers deserve to be supported. Good story, original setting, atmosphere, choices and combat situations. Very disturbing. Only thing that put me off was the abrupt ending. Worth a buy. Steam sales have spoiled the community proportional to the amount of work that goes into making a title.

The things that are being moaned about is that its a port and its not up the subjective standards of some PC gamers thats like such like usual generic WTF PC gamer excuse for most ports.

Games solid fun to play, no bugs, easy gamepad controls, great save system no quick saves try or die or use a retry, old school. Plus their is really no other game out their like this at the mo. So yeah carrying crying me a river, while I give you lot a facepalm salute bieng down on this innovative little game. Glad I'm a cross platform gamer and enjoy both sides of gaming PC and console.

unplayable on PC because of the awkward controls. Its a port, yes. But its badly ported.
