How does Divine Divinity hold up on Windows 7?

There shouldn't be any compatibility problems. Since the Steam release the majority of people seem to be playing DD in Win 7.

From the RunFirst[www.activeplus.com] site:

RunFirst is a command line utility that lets you start an application on the first processor of a multi-processor system or on an hyper-threaded single processor system.

What this utility does is the same as what you can do using the Task Manager -> Set Affinity command.

RunFirst is useful to start an application that crashes when running on a multi processor system. The runfirst.exe command can be inserted in a shortcut so that when you start an application the process affinity is automatically set to run on a single processor.

Some people have had problems with periodic static sounds in the game running on multi-core systems, which setting it to run on a single core will usually prevent.

EDIT: the easiest way to get the game running on a single core would be to right click the div.exe executable in the '..\SteamApps\common\divine_divinity' install folder, select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab and set the game to run in Win 95 / 98 / ME mode.

Divine Divinity runs perfectly on windows 7 and 8, but you may get low fps, like 10-20, to fix this you switch the game settings from Direct 3D to software and fps goes up to 100+, the game is so old that any pc can run it in software mode a lot faster than direct x.

bought to get it for a $1.59 WOOOOOOO!! serisouly though, im glad to hear it work on win7, im sick of buying classic games and them not working on my system -_-

Win 7 64-bit here as well and have never had any issues, so you should be good to go :)
