Divine Divinity

I'm stuck in the Catacombs.
After I've activated all 4 ressurrection switches, The lich appears and speaks to his servants, but after that......nothing. I can walk around and talk to the servants, but I can't do anything else like leave the room, teleport out, cast spells, etc. Any advice?

Is Thelyron hostile when resurrected? He should be friendly until after a cutscene conversation. A couple people had this problem where he was already hostile, so the cutscene didn't get triggered.

If you have any previous saves, one person was able to reload one from 15 minutes before and proceed normally (a couple minute old quicksave also displayed this problem).

If not, the fix in the following topic will help with Thelyron:

Help, the imps hate me!![www.larian.com] - see PitBrat's reply (and maybe Teleporting Anywhere, via hex editor[www.larian.com] as a reference)

If you are not comfortable hex editing, or have any problems with the procedure, you can zip your save (before completing the resurrection, if possible, to be on the safe side) and email it to me (raze@larian.com) to fix. I only need the data.000 file to edit, but the full save would be better to test that it works.

Each save is a separate subfolder in the 'Divine Divinity\savegames' folder. ie
C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/divine_divinity/savegames

Under Vista/7/8, depending on how the user accounts are set up, if you install the game to the Program Files path, Windows can create separate savegame folders for each user, and then map that folder to the game's savegame folder.
C:\Users\ %account name% \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\etc.

Thanks, you should hear from me later this afternoon.
this garbage bug just got me too.... I dont understand how i am suposed to use a post about hex editing an unrelated issue to fix this one. Those instructions are very specific and i dont see how to adapt them to solve this problem.

This is freeking stupid. This bug is gamebreaking and is YEARS old. I have several saves that i can reload and in every case the NPC is hostile and my toon just runs up and starts swinging away.
You don't need to manually hex edit the hostile character's name. Jem in the discussion Imp Council Member created a program to do so.

The offer above still stands, as well, if you want to zip the data.000 file from a save (preferably before the resurrection) and email it to me.
