Divine Divinity Saved Games

I have looked EVERYWHERE and researched the topic of where my divine divinity game files and saved game files will be iwthin my computer. Can someone PLEASE help me find them.
So Far I have tried everywhere within C:/User/ <me>/App Data and then all sub folders, then C:/User/Me/My Documents and My Saved Games. THe poxy game doesnt save my skill points whenever i level up so i have to find the game and then modify the saved game character. Such an annoying faff on, not to mention how hard the game was till I realised!

Each save is a separate subfolder in the '..\Divine Divinity\savegames' folder.
Under Vista/7/8, depending on how the user accounts are set up, if you install the game to the Program Files path, Windows can create separate savegame folders for each user, and then map that folder to the game's savegame folder, but you already looked where they would be in that case.

You need to click on the checkmark button in the stat window to apply the points you distribute. Unfortunately, if you distribute stat points, do not apply them and then save the game and reload, the points will be lost.
As it sounds like you've found already, the missing stat points can be restored using iZakaroN's SaveEditor[www.larian.com] (or from Kiya's site[kiya.xanlosch.de], with description).

I've been using this and it works fine so far.

For me the save files were in the folder where the game was installed, ie. inside the Steam folder:

C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/divine_divinity/savegames

If they are not in the '..\Divine Divinity\savegames' folder, search your hard drive for files named data.000 or world.x1 (2 of the files in each save folder), or save the game with a unique name (xyz1234) and search for recent files/folder with that name.
You may need to tell Windows search to check within hidden and system folders.

Just look at the "root directory" on where you install the game and find the savegames folder.

Unless you have the disk version then browse to Run/savegames.

Did you go into the advanced options and check off to search subfolders, hidden and system folders? The saves have to be somewhere if you can save and load them in the game.

Are you searching from a user account with administrative privileges, and/or the same account you play the game from?

C:/User/you/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/Divine Divinity/Run/savegames
