Divine Divinity

Bug council of seven (queen bee )

I'm currently playing Divine Divinity which is a very good game but I am now stuck in the Antx magic world where you have to choose between supporting queen bee ( Lysandra) or Ragon the wasp. I chose to kill all the wasps (i'm a survivalist character) so I used some steel scorpions to kill them all but at the end the queen bee does not come to talk to me, so I am stuck in this world with nothing to do. I hope you can help me I don't want to restart the game !!

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Best regards,

Does nothing happen at all when you approach the house, or does the fog of war clear and you loose control of your character like a cutscene is about to start? It may take awhile, but both the queen and Ragon should approach again.

Do you have a save at or before the start of the garden? You could try reloading and going through again, either not using scorpions or switching sides, or siding with the bees and just running past all the combat (the queen will be angry, but should still give you the key to the house). The cutscene may start properly if you do something different, or just if you redo it.

It is possible to hex edit your way into the house to talk to the imp (Teleporting Anywhere[www.larian.com]), or do some file swapping to get a key (Lost Items - guide and directory of inventory files[www.larian.com], though you would need to be able to get to the house to use it).

If you wish you can zip your save (as close to the start of the garden as possible) and email it to me to take a look at (raze@larian.com).
Each save is a separate subfolder in the '..SteamApps\common\divine_divinity\savegames' folder. In Windows Explorer you can zip a file or folder by right clicking on it and selecting 'Send To | Compressed Folder'.

Thank you for your answer. Indeed nothing happen, I can go wherever I want on the map but can't enter in the house because I don't have the key. I don't know if it did something but when I was fighting against wasps, (as I am using a bow i spend my time running), I went maybe to high and the cutscene about Ragon saying I'm going to die appeared and then I killed him with my scorpions but there were still lots of wasps.
Then I am not alone, there is still a bee on the map but if it is the queen bee it is just named as 'a bee" and it is not hostile but I can't talk to it.
I think I am going to send you my savegame as you will see more precisely the situation :).
I could start from an old savegame but I have to admit that it is several hours before so if this problem could be solved I will be very grateful!

Thank you Raze I sent you my savegame.

The queen bee should show up immediately after Ragon dies, regardless of how many wasps are left (if you didn't kill any she is ticked, and if you killed the majority without accidentally taking out any bees in the process, she is happy).

EDIT: Actually, I tried just resurrecting Ragon in your save (Reviving dead NPCs[www.larian.com]), and killing him before one of your summoned skeletons does will trigger the queen's cutscene. I should say, it worked twice, crashed twice and after letting the skeleton get the kill shot, nothing happened.

EDIT2: After a few more loads, it seems to work more reliably if the skeleton targets Ragon first. The game (at least on my system) is more likely to crash if your character gets there and attacks first. You just have to hope the skeleton misses (usually does) as Ragon is a one hit kill.
EDIT3: After 3 more tries with your character attacking first (and one with the skeleton attacking but missing), it crashed on the fourth attempt.

Yes indeed i have to kill it myself if, because if not the game crashes. So then the queen bee appeared and gave me the key. The only issue is that the quest is marked as failed but it's ok I prefer to go out of this world x).
So I hope it will help people in the same situation as I was and finally their is always a way to solve problems ;). Reviving dead NPCs is a very good tool I think.

Thanks for your help !!

Hi, do you still edit save-files? Because i´ve got the same problem :/
Yes, you can email your zipped save to the address above (or post/email a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc).

EDIT: I reloaded the save with Ragon resurrected a few times, and unlike above, had no stability problems (maybe because there were no summons involved?); the queen showed up properly each time he was re-killed.
