How are the flight dynamics?

How do they compare against FSX and X-Plane? How detailed are the default aircraft? Does it have modding potential?

aerofly FS is not a FSX or X-Plane clone. Its a VFR flight simulator that focuses on excellent flight physics in conjunction with nice and smooth graphics, but that doesn't require any complex setup routines to get started.

The current version features the whole area of Switzerland and offers 8 aircraft. Our focus is on excellent flight physics, so you don't and have to do any complex setups inside the cockpit to get the aircraft into the air. However all instruments required for VFR flying are animated.

too bad, i was hoping there would be realistic avionics as well,i want to actually learn how to start a plane and fly it, learning all the instrumentation along the way, not something to hold me hand and let me fly too easily without knowing a few things, this seems too arcadey to me.

A-10 Warthog is a bloody timesink and merciless about details. I don't know how many times I went through the entire start up from a cold jet only to forget to engage to nosewheel steering and have the mission be over before even leaving the ramp because I hammered into the oppostie hanger.

Wow... that used to be an issue. I had to know better than to sink money into a HOTAS system that I could not understand. There is a campaign called "tutorial". Kinda boring, but the rewards are great if you get into a wing.

All plane actually feel like RC planes, there's no feel of "weight" or energy. IMHO the flight model is weak and in no way comparable to the DCS benchmark

Are you sure you are using Aerofly FS, or are you using any one of the other Aeroflys? Because all their other offerings -are- RC, except for this one, FS (full size). I have flown RC airplanes and helicopters for 30+ years and FS does not fly at all like RC.

IMHO, it can be deterimental to the genre to set any particular flight simulator as a benchmark. The benchmark for ALL simulators should be actual reality. I do not wish for Aerofly to become more like DCS, I want it to become more like the real world.
