Having trouble connecting to multiplayer.
Is anyone else having problems trying to join any multuplayer lobbies or joining a friends match? Everytime I try It tells me "Connection Failed. Please try again later". I reseted my modem and restarted Steam a bunch of times.

Yes, this is an ongoing bug that has been happening since 2012/13 versions of the game, or so I've heard/read. It's very frustrating, and hopefully they patch something to fix it soon, because that is the main reason I bought the game, and I know that is true for many others too. (On a sad note though, it seems as though they never fixed the same issue in the older games, but, who knows, maybe that'll change with this one? Fingers crossed.)
Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. I encouraged my friends to get it so we can play around together, and I can't create a game, or join theirs. This is stupid, and needs fixed fast.

This is temporary, it just started about 10-15 minutes ago. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
I haven't been able to connect since I bought the game, and I had the same problems in 2012. I hope it's temporary, but past experience has led me to believe otherwise.

You may want to make sure the problem isn't on your end (aside from now), I haven't had any connection issues aside from a few outages like this one in all of the past DotP games.
I've followed all of the instructions from every google search that has allowed. Disabled firewalls, allowed exceptions, turned off anti-virus, reinstalled active-x, verified game cache, dozens of reboots. No dice.

I have also had this problem it started a couple weeks ago on Magic 2013 for me and I almost had heart failure when this problem carried into Magic 2014...I have tried everything I can think of to no avail. If this problem is resolved or someone knows a solution please message me! Thanks!

Yes I hope they fix it soon also. It's been going on since I bought it. Sucks man.

Yeah the problem also started when I bought the game too but this is the first time its happened from any Magic game for me.

My temporary solution is this:

1. Exit steam. This step may or may not be required as I haven't tried with steam still active.
2. Navigate to your steam magic 2014 folder.
3. Find vcredist
4. Install or repair it
5. Restart

This has worked every time for me. However, it is not permanent. It will let you online once with a short window and after that you will have to repeat the steps again. My suggestion is to host a game as the end of a hosted game pops you back in the lobby, which means you can stay online all day without needing to log back in. I can't say with certainty this works for everyone but it has not failed for me yet.

My question to you, sir, is, when you say 'Restart', do you mean the game, or your computer? If it's just the game, then sure, I can dig it. If it's the whole computer, mine just doesn't start up quite as fast as I'd like to play more than one game. :(

Also, in my Vcredist folder I have 2 folders, 2008, and 2010, and 3 files in each. If you wouldn't mind being a bit more specific, that would actually help me out a lot. Thanks!

Just tried it, doesn't work

Unfortunately I mean restart your computer. It is incredibly irritating but has worked for me so far. Also, I wasn't specific with the folder because oddly enough it doesn't seem to matter which one I use. I've tried repairing in a variety of mixtures and no matter what it works temporarily. I use 64 bit windows and the 32 bit file--either version--still triggers the fix.

Sorry to hear it isn't working for you Kamioni. May not matter, but after following the steps did you immediately log onto magic and the multiplayer? No idea why but if I go into any other mode--even deck manager--it breaks the multiplayer immediately.

I've seen some people recommend installing vcredist as well as directx before restart. Perhaps that would help?

I was able to play since launch up until two nights ago. now I experience the same problems like the persons above. this is outragious (is that the way to spell it?) Why the heck would I want to play vs AI all the time? Was pretty annoyed when I realised the multiplayer on the iPad version (2013) only allowed two players. but this is just ridiculous. A magic game without player interaction is worthless.
And I will not jump through hoops and reinstall or repair data every single time I want to play online.

Similar issues, although it tells me I have to be online and logged in first, of which I am both. Any ideas as far as this goes? So far I am finding this game to be a waste of my money because it doesn't even work properly and has quite a few bugs in it.
