You may want to make sure the problem isn't on your end (aside from now), I haven't had any connection issues aside from a few outages like this one in all of the past DotP games.
1. Exit steam. This step may or may not be required as I haven't tried with steam still active.
2. Navigate to your steam magic 2014 folder.
3. Find vcredist
4. Install or repair it
5. Restart
This has worked every time for me. However, it is not permanent. It will let you online once with a short window and after that you will have to repeat the steps again. My suggestion is to host a game as the end of a hosted game pops you back in the lobby, which means you can stay online all day without needing to log back in. I can't say with certainty this works for everyone but it has not failed for me yet.
My question to you, sir, is, when you say 'Restart', do you mean the game, or your computer? If it's just the game, then sure, I can dig it. If it's the whole computer, mine just doesn't start up quite as fast as I'd like to play more than one game. :(
Also, in my Vcredist folder I have 2 folders, 2008, and 2010, and 3 files in each. If you wouldn't mind being a bit more specific, that would actually help me out a lot. Thanks!
Just tried it, doesn't work
Unfortunately I mean restart your computer. It is incredibly irritating but has worked for me so far. Also, I wasn't specific with the folder because oddly enough it doesn't seem to matter which one I use. I've tried repairing in a variety of mixtures and no matter what it works temporarily. I use 64 bit windows and the 32 bit file--either version--still triggers the fix.
Sorry to hear it isn't working for you Kamioni. May not matter, but after following the steps did you immediately log onto magic and the multiplayer? No idea why but if I go into any other mode--even deck manager--it breaks the multiplayer immediately.
I've seen some people recommend installing vcredist as well as directx before restart. Perhaps that would help?
And I will not jump through hoops and reinstall or repair data every single time I want to play online.
