How do you save without losing progress ?
Seriously how?
I see one save and it was an hour prior to what I want to save.
Its telling me I will lose all propgress if I save my game?

So how do I save up to the point I am at right now?

it looks like they use a check point based system even if you press escape and go to the save option.

I would like to know for sure so I do not lose all my progress.

Come on people no one is saving their games?

You have to move around until you see the little icon in the bottom right that signals the game is making a checkpoint save. Then save.

That is the only type of saving.

Edit: when I say move around I mean go to the store, talk to people, do something that will make that icon come up.

I completely agree. I don't have a console so am not sure if they still save like this for some console type reason.

Usually I have only lost a minute or so even if I save then quit without waiting to see that icon. I am sure you haven't played for an hour without it. Unless you have spent an hour trying to do the same thing - like I did trying to figure out how to use the buddy ability until I finally figured out I had the wrong buddy.

I havent tested this yet, but I think the game saves (creates checkpoints) whenever you use Timmy's flags to fast travel.

The game saves at checkpoints (indicated by the monkey tape recorder in the bottom right); it's quite frequent.
The manual save does not save the current position, but makes a copy of the last checkpoint save. It's not meant as a "save" as such, but as a certain backup position to replay from.

^^ Nailed it. There is also a limited number of copies you can make until you have to overwrite old ones.. which is kinda lame.

Now i regret buying this. That you can't change the keyboard controls sucks for one, and that stupid save game feature, why on earth have they implemented that in such an way?

Played this game for a few hours. Looked for that monkey thing, thought I could leave.. lost ALL of my progress. Quite upset.

I must add that Steam will NOT refund the game. Sucks that I enjoyed it so much that I played it for 3 hours before trying to save. Because of that, the money grubbing Steam refuses to refund. What a total rip off.
