Cant buy items from the shop

I have the latest version of Chao Garden Extended:

I clearly have enough rings and such to buy this stupid shiny purple egg and the game says I have too many items in the chao garden. So I sold pretty much all the fruit in all the gardens and even turned off the code that stops fruits despawning. When I had gone to retry for the shiny purple egg it still says I have too many items. I think this is a glitch within the mod I dont know if anybody else is having the same issue. I know another player who had the same issue but had fixed itself yet mine remains broken.

Bear in mine I do have room for at least 1 chao in each garden so that cant be the reason because it would say my gardens are too full.

Items like broken egg shells and empty hats will take up space in the garden. Which you can sell to get rid of them. Also each garden can only hold 8 chaos. See if clearing any of those up help.

I have pretty much no items in the garden or fruits so I don't think that is the issue
