Although mostly its just the system going nuts. I had an unlucky streak of matches yesterday evening, 4 losses in a row, I get to the 5th one which I am finally winning and I get the host migration.. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
The only solution is for them to drop the P2P for an actual server browser and release dedicated hosting suits like.. well, practically every other PC shooter multiplayer game.
But the likelihood of that ever happening, based on them dropping WfC PC on release, and only deciding to support FoC PC this time as a last minute whim, are very slim.
You cannot say either about FoC and that is the problem. Not enough people playing around the world to keep people regionally lag free and the netcoding is absolutely terrible. Would dedicated servers be better? Obviously yes, but what we have here is an example of utter incompetence when they can't even match the functionality that we had with War For Cybertron's P2P which was not so great itself.
It's as simple as that.
However, I for one would rather abolish it completely for proper server/connection. No Host Migrant. No game drops. No uneeded interuptions. Period.
I want to play and have fun. Not deal with some other players rage quit or bad luck of a crash or lag out.
There you got zipped back to the lobby menu when the host leaves.
At least your stats are saved if the migration did its job, which on my computer it usually does after the patch.
True, it is far from perfect.
But I prefer this over none.
There is always a possibility it can be improved with another patch.
No.. sorry but i can't let you get away with posting such a blatant inaccuracy. Host migration does not work properly at all, period. It successfully migrates an average of 1 to 3 players to a new host while the rest of players are booted to lobby. That is what hapens everytime. I have never seen it successfully migrate everyone like it should nor has anyone i know.
I play with a lot of friends and we have really put this game through it's paces. Host migration is severely broken. If they can fix it, great, if not then it needs to be removed because it is bleeding the playerbase of patience.
Personally i am not all that worried about 10 - 15 kills being lost to a host quit in the long run it is peanuts compared to the time lost staring at migration screens.
So have patience until the next patch and if the migration still sucks, you have the permission to rant.
