But since the score is based on changing weapons frequently, it forces you to get good with every weapon, and get efficient at killing things; not just good at farming. The enemies are the obstacle, not the goal.
I've never seen a game where the score was directly linked to how good you were with every weapon. If you make the score based on kills, then there is suddenly nothing unique about SCB. It loses what makes it great. It becomes just another platformer-shootfest.
