yes we sholed have cpu and other players and maby 1-4 player when thay reach the last stand

I was actually thinking of PVP. Co-op wouldn't go too well. People would just get confused.

There's a Garry's Mod mod currently in the making to represent a multiplayer FTL game, it is supposed to be a cooperative first person mod, thought, so that might not be exactly what people are looking for. Also, I've sadly forgotten the mods' name.

On topic:
It will not be done, as it was intended as a singleplayer game and it works as a singleplayer game.
However, I would love a gamemode where you play a certain generated "world" with a specific ship, and then your friend will have to go through the exact same "world" with the same ship. The one with the highest score at the end wins.
Obviously, since the RNG has to have a part in this, random encounters would have to be, well, random. But I still think it would be nice if enemy positions and stores would be in the same place.

Might be fun.. have one guy in charge of weapons and aiming, one in shields, one has the doors..
Or have the guy who's running the 'server' be the captain, and people who join in are the crew.
Sounds like it could be really wonderful chaos at times.

I think it would be great the prob is how the jump button will work in it the secters the desicions and the deaths

I think it would be cool if there was co-op where two or more players each chose their ship and jumped through the game as usual, however they could meet up in one jump beacon together and deal with whatever's there. They'd each get a portion of the loot but this would not be optimal as they would only upgrade their ships very slowly (the rebel fleet still coming at them but only a little loot per ship, very un-upgraded ones would get demolished even if they worked together, also this co-op mode would be suitably harder) which leads to the main point of meeting up: exchanging equipment, possible map imformation, or even crew. In adition, meet-ups would allow you to get more optimal equipment, ie: someone is going with the Engi B and the other guy finds a boarding drone that he give to the Engi guy.

Just my thoughts.

I would definitely play a pvp ftl "mmo." There would be a ton of griefing but at the very least if I got killed I wouldn't feel like I got cheated as much as I do by the game. The game just has plenty of spots where it knows that even though you made every right move and right strategy that it still just screws you over intentionally. At least if it was MP I know it was someone who beat me and not the game systematically creating impossible scenarios.

If you introduce CO-OP I would suggest, that at the end of every becon or so, there should be a boss ship/even, where all the players must work togather. Also some CO-OP quests would be nice.

Wouldn't work. The game is way too dependant on being able to pause play at any time. Can you imagine having even one more player alongside you pausing on a whim?

Well, I think in multi pauses'd be disabled. Creating more intesnse gameplay. Coop could be sth like players - for instance 3 - would face enemies and like 3 vs 5 ships, etc. Would be super cool.
