Ads in the Game
Can you do me a favour and remove the advert on the main menu of FTL for Into the Breach?

I have bought Into the Breach on GOG, and so I don't know if owning it on Steam removes the ad someone in FTL, but it's just annoying me.

I'm used to having adverts appear in mobile apps, not one of m favourite games. Yes, yes, it's advertising your next game, but I've not seen any other game stick an advert up on the main screen.

When I click on FTL on Steam, I see mention of the new game in the news section.

It just feels a little invasive.

At least give us the option of removing the advert from within the game, even if it's defaulted to appear on start.

Yeah, it's a weird one. I'm not entirely sure why it bothers me so much, but it does really bother me.

A random walking mech in the lower left hand side of my screen.

Hopefully they'll patch it out in a few.

If it really bothers you, you can place a sticky note at the bottom left corner to cover it up. You won't even see it at the menu any more.

God forbid a small game company advertises their newest game in the menu of one of their own games, and that you see about 10 seconds of at the most before playing.

I have improved backgrounds mod and i think it changes main menu background as well, so haven't seen anything yet.

Sadly this is what our society has become...

Just install captains edition mod, it puts in it's own start screen.

And it's not the only one, you may choose one that does not affect game balance. Easy solution.

I always find it funny when someone refers to a small company by the size of their team, rather than the funds in their bank.

I for one have seen multiple indie games do this. They don't get much in the form of advertising, so what better way to do it than to advertise in their own game? You're being pedantic.
Of course I'm being pedantic. I have already said that. I'm not sure why it bothers me, nor why the company feels the need to do this.

It's cheap and tacky.

You'd be just as annoyed if you paid for a full mobile game, only to still see adverts. It's just not done. I thought better of this company.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions guys! I'll start looking into some mods.

Well, the discussion about whether this is pedantic aside, i think a pretty reasonable point has been brought up. Just add a small x that makes the ad go away or something like that.

The difference here is that the advert does not obstruct anything nor does it factor in the time it takes to go from the main menu to picking a ship and starting a new game. It's not comparable to the adverts that mobile games push.

So no, I'm not just as annoyed. Your false consensus falls flat. You are not relatable.
This is effectively a banner ad. Banner ads rarely get in the way. The point is that I don't want adverts in a game I paid for, no matter what they're advertising. If you disagree, just move along with your life. What do you gain by telling me I'm wrong?

A distraction
Believe it or not, I can respect that :)

Well there shouldn't even be an ad in a game you payed for anyway.
