The sirens aren't always that audible, but I don't know if there are any ways to change this.
The sounds and the music are probably the most relaxing thing in this game.
System broken kind of has a noise, when it goes into critical range. (Engines and shields)
There has to be a non stop siren when oxygen is off though, way too easy to forget about it, especially if it is one of those ships without sensors...
The "Clone bay off. crew are dying" warning isn't exactly what I'd call relaxing.
Something that I don't very like, is when I'm fighting a ship that can't touch me and leave weapons on autofire and go make some tea, with wireless headphones on to hear when the battle is over, that the popup has no notification sound.
There is always a popup for surrenders and FTL charges, unless the ship started charging as soon as the battle begun. (If you're boarding those ships, run around to pull the pilot away from the seat.)
