LOTRO Won't load, no error message
I recently had to restore my PC to factory settings because Steam stopped working entirely. No worries, it works just fine now except that LOTRO won't load. I start it up and log in, choose my world and hit 'Play' and then the window disappears and nothing happens. I'm not having any other issues with any of my other games right now. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? There's no error message to give me any hints.

Thanks!

Did you try to launch the game from its folder for the first time?

maybe the antivirus/firewall exceptions were removed in the restore. what to set in here:

turning off the firewall was the first of a dozen or so things to try in this article:

what about the rest?

friends, i repet. this game worked well on the same computer. nothing changed, except for the video card. from gtx 650 to gtx 1070. all the drivers are up to date.
I also looked at that list. i don`t have a router, IE is not configured to use a proxy, etc, etc.
The only thing that I will do is to reinstall the game.

I can repeat my question too :) Did you try to launch the game from its folder (<...>\Steam\steamapps\common\The Lord of the Rings Online\turbinelauncher.exe), not via Steam?

If yes, and it didn't help, try these:
1. Uninstall all VC 2005, 2008, 2010 versions via Control Panel.
2. Install via Administrator:
VC 2005 Sp1 - http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/1/c/e1c773de-73ba-494a-a5ba-f24906ecf088/vcredist_x86.exe
VС 2005 MFC Update - http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/B/4/8B42259F-5D70-43F4-AC2E-4B208FD8D66A/vcredist_x86.EXE
VС 2010 - http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/B/C/5BC5DBB3-652D-4DCE-B14A-475AB85EEF6E/vcredist_x86.exe
3. Update DirectX (yes, again): https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17431
4. Reboot your PC.

And if this advice won't help you too - then submit a trouble ticket here: http://support.turbine.com/
