Hey Sumo!
I have a suggestion.

As we all know, the player collisions are pretty glitchy in multiplayer, causing players to be randomly launched into directions, sometimes extremely far away.

So why not turn off player collisions in multiplayer?

Just my 2 cents.

because then weapons couldnt hit you, and you would just float around, your player collision also mandates your interactions with important things like walls, and the ground

Couldn't have said it better myself.

They can turn off colissions in boost races at least and this works well against walls, Outrun Online (from Sumo too :D ) had this option

No.

Nice troll.

I said player collissions. Not the interaction between players and walls etc.

It's part of the experience. Deal with it. If a game would remove any aspect that could cause frustration, we would end up with a dull game

As a compromise, they could (should IMO) implement a limit as to how much "player collision" can ruin your momentum.

Players don't teleport around the field when there's latency/lag. They're moving much faster than nominally possible in the game (like blink-of-an-eye-fast instant) and that's what's causing players to go from full speed to being thrown into a wall full-stop. If the player physics accounted for recoil when striking walls/obstacles, you'd probably be bouncing off the walls a good several seconds after a lag-collision.

I agree with Morzun. Because it is Obvious how many people RELY on items to win, thats why they would get defensive it you meant items.
As for collisions, alot of people need bumping others off the track or into the wall to get an advantage!

I am not sure how bumping into another player and then flying 500 meters is "part of the experience".

That was aimed towards people wanting to remove collision between players altogether. Regular collision is fine.

What you're saying however, as u may probably know, is a major issue on the console version. So you may also know that they've fixed that issue a great deal on the PC version. It's still there yes, but not to the exaggerating extent you are describing. It' minimal so assume they did their best in fixing it as best as they could.

Blame latency. It's in basically every multiplayer game.

Either way, I don't think the player collision should be taken away. It's far too amusing to knock people off the map.

I don't want to start an argument, but you kinda come off as a masochist by saying that...

"not to the exaggerating extent you are describing"? The player collisions is still a very huge problem. Have you seen that video when Gum blasts off the map in Temple Trouble because someone bumped the back of her car? The same thing happened to me in Samba Studios and because of that I won the race. If I'm gonna be real honest I have never had this much problem with the collisions in the Wii U version.

I'm pretty sure the console versions got region blocks, so you wont play against somebody from across the World with a horrible latency.

The post was put in the wrong context because I didn't quote anyone. It was aimed towards people who asked the removal of collision altogether. I don't know what masochist means but please eleborate why you disagree with me.
