A question concerning the Classic Cup.
I doubt S0L will answer this but I have to ask, what was the process of deciding which tracks to include in this cup, I have to say I was quite surprised to see the Death Egg Track in this game considering it was the same track made for DLC for the original game, but I'm also delighted that my favourite track Roulette Road made it into the game.

We polled the team to see which was their favourite track from the first game and then sent the results down to SEGA. We also felt that not everyone had got to play the Death Egg track first time around, so that was a shoe in.

Not only that but you unlock Eggman through GP and the last race is on the Death Egg, so that sort of tied everything together there nicely.

SEGA then did a similar poll down there, we combined the results and the tracks you see as the Classic Cup were the result. I had wanted to get the Monkey Ball track in, but a whole bunch of people said they were too hard... :P

Please don't tell me you wanted the 3rd Monkey Ball track, but still, Death Egg was a very nice choice.

Heh, the Monkey Ball track with the ridiculous amounts of right angle turns? Heh, the CPU racers often fell behind me by sometimes close to a minute. I can't imagine what it would take to get them to actually provide a challenge on that one without them going all star all the time. XD
I wonder if that didn't have something to do with it.

I will chime in and say that the music choice for the classic Samba de Amigo track was not the best one. "Samba de Janeiro" would have been a much better choice.

Monkey Target was amazing, I loved those hair pin turns

Oh that one was quite nice. It forced me to learn how to take the tightest of corners. And with that came the skill on how to better drift through tight corridors.

I never played the first one, but I prefer Death Egg and Shibuya Downtown to the other two. They both have jumps, which makes them fit better with the newer tracks.

Gameplay aside, Sunshine Tour is the prettiest to look at.

Now I've never played any of the Samba de Amigo games, but Sunshine Tour makes me feel like i'm on some sort of acid trip. Not trying to offend, but that's sort of the vibe I get from the course with it's crazy visuals, the fact that everything is bouncing around, and the giant heads in the multicolored tunnels.

yeah it's freaking disturbing. I hate that track so much just for that giant butterfly, I have to try to not look at it.

Sunshine Tour was my fav track in the first game, I'm really glad it's in this one. Shibuya was also one of my faves, still is. Roulette Road was not a fav of mine in last game, but I like it now. I didn't play the death egg track in the first, so I think that is pretty cool they included it this time, I like the track. Classic Cup is my fav atm.
As far as the acid trip comment, I thought that about Dream Valley first time I played it. I loved it. It's beautiful. I don't know the game it's from though.

Thanks Prime Sonic. I checked out that link plus a few other vids of the game. Seems interesting, I like the whole dream world concept. I now have a better understanding of Nights. And I take it that is where the ring races idea comes fro. It's interesting, in one of the vids I saw the brand manager of sega said Nights wouldn't be a 'playable' character in 'transformed', guess they changed their minds. Sorry, I'm off topic from this thread, anyways, thanks, it's nice to learn of the characters and levels in this game that I didn't know of already.
