Hello from SUMO Part 2 - Update 20th Feb
So... that old thread and first post was getting a touch unwieldy, so I figured we'd create a new one. I've kept the old thread stickied for now though :P

As you're reading this, we've moved the update from the Beta Branch to the Live Branch.

Everyone should now update automatically and hopefully see the majority of launch issues resolved.

I'd actually like to thank everyone who joined in on the Beta thread for their help and support. It was invaluable! In fact it was so good, we'll likely keep the Beta Branch about to let users try future Updates early as we resolve the INTZ rendering issue.

So what does the Update address? It's the following!

1. Stability should be vastly improved.
2. Online matchmaking should work regardless of region.
3. Less dropped connections (unless you actually do have genuine connection issues).
4. Pointer drift in the Launcher resolved.
5. Better support for Direct Input controllers with better automatic control mapping.
6. Time Attack ghost download for top ten players (if they upload one).
7. Time Attack filters should now work correctly (Your Pos, Top Pos, Friend Pos)
8. Removed 'judder' for high spec machines and 120Hz monitors
9. Launcher should always... Launch!

We have also added...

1. Steam Voice Chat Enable/Disable option.
2. Steam Voice Chat Push to Talk support (defaults to On!)
3. Steam Voice Chat volume setting.
4. Ability Steam Voice to mute/unmute players in a lobby (highlight them and press L3)

What are we still working on...

1. Alternate render support for cards that don't support INTZ.
2. VAC support and detection of naughty cheats...

Again I'd like to apologise for people who are having problems running the game due to the INTZ issue. We are literally trying to get this addressed as soon as we can. As soon as we have an initial version we'll get this on the Beta Branch so we can make sure it's implemented correctly. I don't have an exact timeline on this, but it's liable to be at least a couple of days.

Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the improvements!

As a final note, we recommend players on the Beta Branch moving back to the Default 'Live' Branch. You won't need to download the update again, and since the focus will be on INTZ (and we may force the renderer to be non-INTZ) it means you won't suddenly get a version with any new *interesting* performance issues :P

Update 20th Feb

OK, we've just pushed the network fix out from the Beta branch to all. This was an increase in timeouts and increased retries on failed P2P connections. As this was exactly the same as the previous versions, this should be a nice lovely happy update that simply stops the issues with the Race Playlist when the servers are busier.

We advise all users on the Beta branch to roll back to the default 'Live' branch so when we push the INTZ test version to Beta, you don't get something that you might not need :P

As always I'll be around to monitor any headaches, but we're not expecting any!

Thank you S0L and Sumo for the awesome support. Also, good choice on the default PTT button (push down r-analog, if anyone's curious).

I've never bothered recommending a game through Steam before, not even for Skyrim which I've put 450+ hours into (and counting), but I had to do it for this game. Not only is it the best karting game I've played since Mario Kart on the SNES, but it has split screen co-op on PC (which is great on a big screen with Big Picture), which a lot of developers remove. Also it's really encouraging to see the developers being active here as it shows you actually care and aren't just out to make a quick buck from the PC crowd. Cheers.

The patch completely broke the Configure utility for me, it won't start up at all now.
