Can we turn rubber banding off?PLEASE
There is a point in career mode and GP where I am already tired of it. I just unlocked Nights and...ugh tired of the rubber banding.

I can shoot them, freeze them or I can be in All-Star and nothing happens to them. Do include it in some future patch or tell us if we can mod it out or modify something to eliminate rubber banding.

Are you playing on medium or hard? There's actually very unnoticable rubber banding in this game. I usually become first by a large margin excluding expert mode

In both medium and hard is very noticeable, around before unlocking Nights you have a Sky Sanctuary race here is what happened in the last lap when I fell third after being in first place:

Got rocket, shoot second place, used boost pad, immediately after that boost is finished I used my boost pickup I got from the the boost pad. Even though the AI did not used a boost of any kind I could not catch up to it. I was using Knuckles with the speed mod.

I don't think it's actually rubberbanding, but the AI is cheating. It's very common when playing on Expert difficulty.

Just keep retrying. On medium and hard there's very little rubberbanding, as i've said almost unnoticable. You can beat them by a large margin if you master the game and the courses. I think it has to do with their stats rather than rubberbanding. I dont recognize what you say

Oh this! The rubberbanding! Mario Kart had it bad in the old days. And its noticeable in this game.
Mgbenz 11 Lut, 2013 - 8:25
Almost unnoticable still means that it's happening. There's really no difference.

Am I the only person who is okay with the AI cheating? I actually enjoy that the races are usually close, and there isn't one person who runs away with it every game. It also goes both ways; it lets you catch up to the AI too.

Mario kart had it? You mean it doesn't have it anymore?

@mgbenz

Yes there's a bit of rubberbanding but yeah if its an issue I guess you could ask for an option like the previous game to turn it off. But imo as how it's implemented in such a way that it's almost not noticable, I think its fine. Dunno about you or anyone, but the difference between first and 2nd is pretty often big whether online or offline... again excluding expert.

It's only an issue on expert. If you're having trouble on medium/hard you're just going to have to get a bit better at the game. Medium/Hard havey barley any rubberbanding if at all.

There is.

No. Its more stats related than it is rubberbanding. Cpu get random stats no matter wut character. I think you'll take everything back when ya get better. Medium and hard become a snooze

I've noticed people complaining about rubberbanding in a lot of racing games I haven't seen it in. I usually have to wonder if their system doesn't process stuff fast enough for the engine to do what it needs to do.
Cean 12 Lut, 2013 - 5:34
It's really noticable in Boost Race on Expert's earlier stages.
It'd be far too easy without it though, imo. It's to compensate with the player's actual ability to dodge, do Risk Boosts, use items properly, and choose better shortcuts. Etc. It's really hard to program a reasonable AI for a racing game like this without giving them an "advantage".

I can agree with you to a certain extent, I've done every event in Hard so far but there are those moments where you are cutting it close and you wish that wasn't there otherwise you would have made it. Whenever it repeats itself you get stuck with it because it frustrates so much.

Yes it happened and it is there. You can't turn this into a he said/she said, it is in the game, many people have reported on it, the first game had an option to turn it off.
