The TF2 Characters...
Ok seriously. For what reason would they NOT use the official TF2 voice clips. Licensing problems? Is sega REALLY that cheap? They should NEVER of put them in the game unless they were willing to go all the way. It's just plain awkward without the original voices. :(

Also the voice actors they used... they really were trying too hard to imitate them Especially when the Heavy Laughs or calls for a Medic.

I feel you. It's weird being an avid TF2 player and playing this game. I still primarily play as the TF2 team but... Them voice clips... So terrible. I mean how could they even get pyro wrong ? >:(

It would have most likely cost a massive ton to use the official voices, probably for contractual reasons... But we'll never know why exactly, we can only speculate.

Considering the Team Fortress racer was part of a quick addition for a PC exclusive, you really shouldn't expect too much from it. ;)

Considering the Heavy was in that Poker Night game and had a billion lines in that using the official voice, it does seem strange.

The TF2 voices were bespoke recordings directly from valve themselves.

I can't tell difference to be honest.

Apparently it's the same people. Keep in mind it's been 5 years since they initially did the voices and their voices may have changed since then.

It's possible they are just extremely rusty. Listening to Heavy's new lines for the fairy costume, his VA sounds like he keeps slipping into his Demoman voice:

The Fairy Princess Lines still sound better though! When were those recorded? Wasn't that for the recently passed Halloween event? The way I see it since Sega didn't really record new lines for most of their characters (And I can painfully point out which game sonic's lines come from) I would have thought they used recycled TF2 lines. I honestly do not see the point in using these new voice clips when nearly all the lines used for the racer are lines that could be cut and paste from TF2!

We need a clever modder to do some magic.

It's the same actors, like people said, it's been a while since they voiced for the first time, and when there's a new update on TF2 and the characters have new voice lines, they also sound a little strange, but that's because we are not used to listen these new voice clips. And for the Pyro, he NEVER got new voice lines since the release of the game, also, Valve probably uses a sound effect that makes him sound like that, probably SEGA didn't knew how to do that. But i still have fun playing with them, just wish there was a TF2 map

What map would they even use? Are there any plans for future maps?

How about you stop your ♥♥♥♥♥ing and enjoy this awesome game.

If it's same people then how they could sound so different? They did new lines for mann vs machines and sound exactly the same
Captain Useless Feb 1, 2013 @ 12:52pm
I think there are people already trying to mod the sound files as we speak.
PFS Venom Feb 1, 2013 @ 1:19pm
Also, if they used the same voice lines from the game, people would call SEGA lazy for not hiring the voice actors, so yeah.

I don't imagine that it would take that long to do. The voice acting issue isn't that major in the first place, but at least it shouldn't be hard to fix.
