New Beta Update (26th April 2013)
RIght then...!

Apologies for the wait, but we've pushed another update live here to see if it improves a few things...!

Notable changes...

1. Time Attack Ghosts - We've changed how the Ghosts work so now if you've set a time it will now find Ghosts across the whole leaderboard, rather than just in the top ten. Hence more Ghosts and hopefully you can learn from each others play a touch more incrementally...!

2. Time Attack Tweaks - And as well as the Ghost change, we've done a bunch of tucks and tweaks to make Time Attack work a little more nicely.

3. Death Egg on NoINTZ Cards - Fixed some shader rendering issues here, this track should now render correctly on cards that don't support INTZ. Well fingers crossed!

4. Misc Tucks and Tweaks - And as always we've cleaned up a few rough edges around the place.

As a warning, if you're not already on the Beta branch, this will clear some local data and PB's in Time Attack. You've been warned...!

As always, we're interested in any issues people spot with this update, intention is we'll push it live on the other side of the weekend for all players, well all being well!

(Old updates below!)

Hello,

So we've pushed a new update to Beta to see if it eases some problems reported with the Live branch. Namely...

1. Windowed Rendering on INTZ cards when maximising or resizing a window should no longer causes HDR to become unstable (crazy lighting swings).

2. 'Online account access rights' error message should no longer trigger for non-VAC banned players after multiple consecutive games.

3. Adjusted error checking for online games with new timeout's.

4. Boat 'Wall' exploit addressed.

5. Online Ratings 'Local' reset (due to repeated PM's...)

6. Tucks and Tweaks to Tilt/Motion controls on Ultrabook hardware.

As always, you can access the Beta branch by opting into it via right clicking on the game in your library, chosing properties, going to Beta's and choosing the Beta Branch.

It does need a new password though - it's now Hedgeh0g - note the zero in the Hog!

You can of course opt back into the Live branch at any time too!

We'll give this a couple of days to make sure we've not altered anything else we shouldn't have - and then we'll push it live. If you try it, let us know anything you spot...

Updating now. Will playing online via matchmaking cause any funny (potentially VAC related?) things to happen?
I also noticed that Time Trial local times were reset. Was this intentional or a leftover from the previous Beta branch handling?
PS will you be at Summer of Sonic '13? Or too soon to tell?

A-ok will give it a go.
(say anything new going on DLC related? does progress still continue?)

Mando I dont think constantly asking the same question over, and over and over and over fro mforum to forum to forum to steam will help you get the answer. Because frankly, I imagine it being ♥♥♥♥ing anoying, but that's just me

Most of us are just as excited for the DLC, but you're giving the impression that you don't trust them on their words, almost like you think they're being liars. They confirmed to work on it. That's all you need to know untill they decide to share the info, and that'll be whenever they want to. Being all pushy won't change that

sol, i know im kinda uninformed about this subject but im mainly asking because my girlfriend has a no-INTZ card and her game still have "pixelated" shadows and when around water there are pixels which bugs the boats or whatever she's driving, it looks like a "really bad anti-alias". I read a post which said those issues were adressed, but nothing changed for her, is this some configuration issue or has this issue not been adressed yet? she's using a "ATI HD 3800" card.
Thank you, sol.

Thank you, sol.

There are known driver issues with a number of the HD3xxx range, not just with Transformed but many other games (i.e. Diablo 3). We can't fix that sadly, it needs a fix at the driver level. It's actually worth trying an older driver in that case - especially if you're on Vista or XP.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I *cannot* talk about DLC at this point. Honestly, I wish I could, not least to explain what's been going off, but it's not simple or straight-forward, in fact the whole situation is somewhat complicated. Even if I could talk about it, this wouldn't be the time or place to do it either, it'd have it's own thread in the SEGA forums, rather than in a Beta thread on Steam...!

I know you're keen to know, and I appreciate there's been nothing of note, but its certainly not down to a lack of desire from me to explain where the situation is at, more that right now, there isn't a lot I can say...!

Do these kids not understand what a Non-Disclosure Agreement is?

I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't legally talk about it. And if you did, it might cost you dearly. So I'm not planning on pressing the topic.

My two cents:
Seriously, guys. Lay off the subject and just be happily surprised when/if something shows up.

feedback after 2 hours of testing:

-No crashes or network errors, only a huge freeze/stutter on my very first matchmaking race
-Game no longer goes completely crazy with graphics when I alt+tab while being in the lobby waiting for next race to start.
-Local Time Attack PB's have indeed been reset (I suppose I'll lose all my ghosts just like in the first beta).
-Configurator launches on first try so far.

Have yet to test:
-Returning to the lobby or starting a race while window is minimized/alt+tabbed, that usually crashes the game and hopefully has been fixed.

Updated. Everything seems to work well so far, haven't got any network errors yet.

I'll report any errors or glitches I come across. Thanks!

Game started to just frequently crash after races since today. Im guessing this is the patch fault (im running it on my lenovo 580y)

I tried the beta patch and it doesn't seem to have the crashes i experienced, will see if it fixed things.
(was there some minipatch over last 2 days? Because my game didn't crash for 2 hours straight before that)

I'm STILL getting DNF glitches and crashes online. Is this ever going to be fixed? Or this a host problem?

More specifically, the crash happened right after the DNF glitch during the track vote.

Boat wall exploit? that's a new one to me.

I take it this update isn't (at least yet) addressing issues with time attack ghosts and how it only seems to let you race the number 10 spot, despite being higher on the board? Or cases where it pits you against a ghost from the wrong course (such as a case where I raced a Burning Depths ghost on Graveyard Gig)?

Were Time Attack PBs cleared again? I'm seeing I still have my leaderboard times, but my PBs are blank.

Patch has some small stability alterations, but it shouldn't be massively different to the live version. It's mostly been network tweaks and the windowed mode fix...

We can't fix the internet speed for everyone, all we can do is attempt to deal with high latency. If a host is slow, disabling voice chat will certainly help, as well as telling them to stop downloading the internet at the same time as playing. The timeouts and error re-synchronisation now are as forgiving as we can possibly make it.

This should address that, but you will need to set new suitable times. Which is why we wiped the leaderboards last time...

Oh, I know the internet speed can't be fixed. It's just that having a win you clearly deserved being denied due to a DNF glitch is rather frustrating. Was just hoping there would be some sort of fix for that.

But if not, I guess i'll just have to deal with it. But I am grateful for the network error fix though, that was almost annoying me to no end.

Edit: Oh, and the resize issue. Glad that was fixed too!

Okay, I found this really odd glitch.

During online play, things were going okay until I started hearing the intro playing in the background.

I turned off the sound for All-Stars Racing Transformed, but the music kept playing. Then I realised it was playing through Steam for some odd reason. I had to mute it as it was getting abit annoying.
