Update 14-01-2014:
Corrected a few Milkshakes (get it? :D) on the guide. Added a new index part called "5.2 - Wrong GPU Detected" to help laptop users get the game to use the Nvidia/AMD GPU instead of the Intel one.

You know...I do use the laptop, and surprise surprise, it uses an Intel GPU.

If you only have the Intel card, the tutorial won't help you. However, if you do have a Nvidia or AMD card on the laptop, you should check that part to help you get the more powerfull card working!

Uhh BlackLion. SART config menu always shows Intel Graphics or your default graphic chip on the Graphic settings, reguardless if you are actually using Nvidia graphics for laptop users. :P
I have a Intel 4600 and Nivida 760m. I've never seen the Config menu say "Nvidia 760M' in the device listed. (Or maybe I read your guide wrong. xD If, so I do apologize for this post and ignore and call me a dumby)
A ton of games do this as, well.
GPU detection isn't a problem for Transformed unlike other Sonic games like Sonic Generations.
However, SART can crash and give you blue screens if you don't have the charger connected for laptop users.

Anywho, a wonderful guide. I shared it with a couple of my friends that use gaming toasters.

Oh, that's new! :O

I checked with Saronali she has also a switchable graphics PC. On her PC it does show the Nvidia card on the Configuration Tool and she had to do no additional configuration! She doesn't even have the "Launcher.exe" on Nvidia's configuration, just tthe Sonic All Stars exe file one (it was already by default there).

However while i was helping some another person who was having some issues with the game on his switchable laptop /for this guy the game wasn't using the Nvidia GPU at all, we checked), I found out that by adding "Launcher.exe" (after also adding the ASN_potato.exe file too) on the Nvidia control panel (as it says on the new guide part I made), it fixes some issues with the launcher / the game itself. Might have been a single-case only but it did fix the launcher / game slow / crashing problems.

But yeah, thank god this game isn't as picky as Sonic Generations, that one was a pain in the ♥♥♥ D:

So, it seems to be random then? Some people show up Intel, others Nvidia? Strange :O

Moral of the story: Desktops ftw :D

Anyway, leaving the recommendation of adding both "Launcher.exe" and "ASN_potato.exe" to the Nvidia Control Panel on the guide. Better safe than sorry!

(I am totally not double posting at all)

Update 20-01-2014:

- Separated Configuration Tool related problems from Game crashing / Showing Black Screens / Missing geometry ones for better organization. Each is in each own section now;

- Added a new section about Sound Problems, with fixes for "Sound Being too Loud / Low when opening / closing the game".

-----------
Update 16-01-2014:

- Added a brand new topic! Check point 1.2 - Enabling Vibration (Force Feedback) on Generic Controllers to get force feedback working again your old D-Input Vibration (force feedback ready) Ready controller to start vibrating!

-----------
Update 15-01-2014:

Added brand new (and tested) information in point 4.5 - Reducing Input Lag. This will result in control keys / the mouse in the menus responding much faster in-game. The tweak consists on:
  • Disabling In-Game V-Sync in favor of a Driver applied one;
  • Activating Triple Buffering;
  • Changing the Pre-Rendered Frames for the game;
  • Other evil but cool Misc. Tweaks.
At the moment, only the AMD/ATI part is written and available, as it's a little bit hard for me to get a hold of Nvidia users to test and gve me the information so i can write the step-by-step parts of the guide. As soon as i get someone to test with, I will update the guide!

I still did not test yet but this settings might also be very helpful for low-end computers, since they have lower frame-rates (which causes higher Lag Input). As soon as I test it also on low-end systems, will update the guide accordingly.

Let's go by steps! First, i need to know your computer hardware. I need to know your CPU and GPU mainly.

This is so i can direct you on how to fix the black screens :)

I have an i5-4670k running with a gtx 770 and i'm having one issue that's bothering me with this awesome game. When i run windowed/windowed fullscreen mode the framerate drops immensly to about what looks like 10fps? maybe a tad more. But it not as smooth as when i run fullscreen. Iv'e tried to google but to no avail. Anyone know anything about this? Help would be much appreciated.

What resolution & refresh rate are you running the Windows desktop at?

Also, what version of Windows do you have?

Here's what is most likely happening:

You're running with V Sync set on, in the game options in the Configuration tool. (It's enabled by default)

When the game launches in full screen, your monitor will fall back to 60 Hz. The game runs at 60 FPS, as it was designed to.

When you switch to Windowed mode, the game will not alter the desktop mode, thus attempting to run at 144 FPS or whatever your system can handle.

When the game runs over 60 FPS, you'll get some runt frames inserted in place of the extra frames. This will manifest as extremely choppy behaviour. There's no way to get the game to smoothly display more than 60 FPS in this game, unfortunately.

What you can do to resolve the problem is one of the following:

-Set your desktop refresh rate to 60 Hz while playing in Windowed (not at all desirable)

-Use a frame rate limiter like NVIDIA Inspector to limit the game's frame rate to 60 FPS. <- This is what I do.

-Disable V Sync in the launcher options, which will enable the game's in built frame rate limiter.

If you need help with any of these, let me know :)

I did this. Worked like a charm. I feel dumb for not thinking about it before. Thank you very much :)
