Game randomly closes?
Every once and a while during cutscenes, the game just instantly closes...no error message, no hidden process still running, nothing. Just instant close.

I'm loving the game, but missing cutscenes due to this is annoying, is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone know of any fixes?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the same issue I've been having, and no error in event log so its like it's actually chosen to exit not crash. :/
I've revalidated files and it's reaquired one, will test the game again later.
Then maybe I'll try compatability mode.
(I always load the game from inside Steam so thats not my cause)

Nope it hates compatability mode (even win7 compatability) exits every time you load a game with it enabled.

For me it tends to happen the longer I've played, and if I've been using my computer for lots of intensive things beforehand. I'm guessing it's an issue with running out of memory, or something running a bit too hot, or something like that.

If you start your computer up and then play the game without doing anything else on your PC then you should be able to play for hours with no issues, but if yuo've been watching lots of youtube or playing other games first or you have some torrent program running in the backgruond while you play, then the game may just randomly crash or quit when loading a new area.

It really shouldn't be running out of memory...
I'll give it a go tho' with a fresh restart later and play the game first and see what happens.

It's not running out of memory. Don't confuse his guess with him actually knowing whats wrong.

I'm not, I was just being civil. While unlikely to fix the issue a restart can't hurt.

Yeah I've no idea what the actual problem is. But I have been able to play the game on many occasions with no issues, no black screen or crashing to desktop or whatever. On the few occasions that it DID happen, I had done quite a lot of other stuff on my PC during the same session, and I had been recording gameplay footage for Let's Play videos.

So when I did more Let's Play Inversion videos I made a point of restarting the PC first, and for me the problem did not reoccur. Dunno how or why that worked, but for me it did. My processor isn't as good, but I too have got 16gigs of RAM, and I've got a GTX 560Ti, the 2gb version. So for me too it would seem unlikely that the issue is running out of memory. (It would have to be a ridiculously severe memory leak..!) Still, for whatever reason, restarting seems to help.

Just came on here to post about this. I had played the game on 360 beforehand so I knew what I was getting into. Seems to crash only during loading screens, but then restarting it will enable it to bypass that screen... and crash at the next one.

Are you on Windows 8.1 OP? I am and it happens to me too in coop mode.

I get this very ocasionally, but no in cutscenes, it's random and after a time playing. I think it's when the graphic card is getting hot
